Lyndhurst Woman Faces Psych Test in Alleged Murder Plot
A northern New Jersey woman charged with hiring a hit man to kill her ex-boyfriend's girlfriend has been ordered by a judge to undergo a psychiatric evaluation.
Nicole Faccenda appeared in federal court in Newark on Friday.
The 42-year-old Lyndhurst resident was arrested last week and pleaded not guilty.
Prosecutors say Faccenda asked a friend in Florida to find someone to carry out the hit. The friend called authorities.
She allegedly met with the friend and a federal agent posing as a hit man at a supermarket in Mahwah, and later gave the friend a $2,000 down payment at an Exxon station in Secaucus.
Prosecutors say Faccenda was recorded telling the friend she wanted to go to the girlfriend's funeral and "spit on her casket."
