Kelli O’Hara leaving Broadway’s ‘The King and I’ on April 17

The countdown is on to catch Kelli O'Hara in her Tony Award-winning turn in "The King and I" on Broadway.

O'Hara will play her final performance as Anna Leonowens on April 17, which also marks the end of Ken Watanabe's second stint as the King of Siam.

Tony-nominated Marin Mazzie will replace O'Hara starting May 3, the same night Daniel Dae Kim makes his Broadway debut as the king .

Watanabe, the 56-year-old Japanese actor, made his American stage debut last year, earning a Tony nod opposite O'Hara in the revival. He is being treated for stomach cancer but will return to the role March 17.

The 51-cast-member revival at Lincoln Center won the Tony Award for best revival and its score by Rodgers and Hammerstein includes "I Whistle a Happy Tune," `'Getting to Know You" and "Shall We Dance."
