Jon Stewart named to New Jersey Hall of Fame

TRENTON (AP) — Jon Stewart has something to look forward to once he leaves "The Daily Show."

The comedian, who grew up in Lawrenceville, is among 13 people with New Jersey ties to be named Friday to the state Hall of Fame.

Other 2015 inductees include the musical group Kool and the Gang, basketball commentator Dick Vitale, writers James Fenimore Cooper and Anna Quindlen, and the late U.S. Sen. Frank Lautenberg.

U.S. women's soccer captain Christie Rampone, Medal of Honor recipient Jack Jacobs, Fox Studio founder William Fox, Morgan Stanley executive Carla Harris, and philanthropists Lewis Katz and Bernard Marcus also will be honored.

The induction ceremony will take place on Oct. 22 at Convention Hall in Asbury park.

The hall is housed in a mobile museum that travels the state.
