Joint Base Training to Cause Booms, Shakes in Ocean, Burlington

Residents in parts of Ocean and Burlington counties can expect to experience booms, shakes as Marines will be conducting artillery-fire training at the Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst today and into the weekend.

The training is set to begin July 20 and will run between the hours of 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. until July 22.

Residents nearby may hear some booms or noises coming from the joint base's range and could experience ground shaking or rattling. Noises from the training exercises could travel further if weather conditions are overcast.
