The Environmental Protection Department says Ocean Bathing Area 1 and Area 2 are ready for the July Fourth holiday weekend.

Workers have reconstructed four boardwalks that were destroyed by Sandy at Bathing Area 1 and 2. Most oceanside access trails for beachgoers and vehicle access points for sport fishermen are also open. So are restrooms facilities and concessions.

The park's marina on 24th Avenue in South Seaside Park remains closed because of Sandy damage.

Island Beach State Park stretches for 10 miles between the ocean and Barnegat Bay.
