Titled “Right Turns Vol. 1: No Wasted Lives,” the video shows how a few wrong decisions can result in arrest or death from using a drug such as heroin. Throughout the video, viewers are asked to make choices, the results of which they then see.

The video will be screened at high schools and middle schools across Ocean County, and students will be asked to give feedback.

Students from Point Pleasant Borough‘s drama department starred in the short film, along with members of the borough police department, First Aid Squad, and Board of Education. Future videos will feature other area students.

“Each one, different high school drama departments will be asked to participate and that participation will raise interest by those in the schools, to see what their classmate has produced,” said Al Della Fave, spokesman for the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office.

Tufano Communications LLC produced the video.

“What’s really great is, these videos are being produced and paid for with drug forfeiture monies, so the drug dealers that are victimizing today’s youth will be the ones paying to educate them,” Della Fave said.

“No Wasted Lives” includes a special guest appearance by Bon Jovi’s Richie Sambora, who wrote and performed the film’s opening music.
