Eastbound Thursday morning commuters on Route 80 faced a nightmare commute because of an accident in Denville.

An early-morning accident near Exit 38 for Route 46 closed two lanes and created delays of up to 10 miles, according to New Jersey Fast Traffic's Bob Williams. All the lanes were reopened around 7 a.m.

Williams said Routes 46 and 10 were also slow eastbound with alternative traffic. "It's a good morning to pack your patience," Williams said.

New Jersey State Police spokesman Sgt. 1st Class Gregory Williams did not know the circumstances of the accident or the vehicles involved.

It's the second accident of the morning to delay eastbound commuters. The cleanup of an early morning tractor trailer fire on Route 78 in Union Township left only one lane open, creating a long backup as the morning commute got underway.
