Maxwell Barrett is about to graduate Raritan High School in Hazlet later this month. With his high school career coming to an end, he decided to reveal something about himself to his friends and family with an amazing yearbook quote that's taking the internet by storm.

See the photo and quote below.

I had a chance to catch up with Maxwell. See what he had to say about his yearbook quote and what advice he has for others struggling with coming out below.

Joe: As far as the quote itself is concerned, was it something you thought of ahead of time or did it just come to you one day? When you submitted it, were you nervous about the day when the yearbooks would be given to everyone?

Maxwell: I had found the quote while scrolling through my Tumblr feed one day! I was never really nervous about it coming out, I was always confident in myself, no matter the outcome of the situation.

Joe: What has the reaction been from your family and friends?

Maxwell: My friends are going crazy! I'm getting so many texts about. They all love my quote, and it was a huge hit around school among the students. My parents are so proud of me for being myself, I love them for all the support they have given me and will continue to give me moving forward.

Joe: Lost in all of the news about your yearbook quote is that fact you’re about to be a high school graduate. What are your plans after high school?

Maxwell: After graduating I am continuing my education at OTIS College of Art and Design out in Los Angeles, California. It's a crazy move but I am following my heart! My major has not been decided yet but I am waivering between Illustration and Game & Entertainment Design.

Joe: Is there anything you’d like to say to anyone who’s struggling with coming out?

Maxwell: For those struggling to come out, just be you. If you're not ready, do not rush it. It will happen one day. You have people around you who will support you, although sometimes they are hard to find, they are there. I promise!

Wise words for sure. Congratulations to Maxwell for not only coming out but for graduating high school.

What was your senior quote? Was it as clever as Maxwell's? Let us know in the comment section below.
