The Christie Administration announces five appointments to the Farmingdale Borough Council. The new Council Members are Michael John Burke, George Dyevoich, Jr, Joseph Hultmark, Patricia Linszky and Michael Romano.

All Council Members are registered Republicans according to state statute because the seats were originally vacated by GOP members. They also had to submit to background checks.

The State Department of Community affairs says in all, 12 residents applied.

Friday's appoints follows one in late August filling all six open council seats.

The original Council Members began resigning in July citing a lack of civility with the Mayor. It also led to the cancellation of an August Council meeting.
