FORT LEE — A portion of the George Washington Bridge was closed for the second time this week on Friday morning.

New Jersey Fast Traffic's Bob Williams said someone climbed the New Jersey Tower forcing the upper level to be closed in both directions. All traffic including trucks were pushed to the lower level.

A Port Authority spokesman said the man was still on the tower as of 9 a.m. By about 9:15 a.m., two lanes were open outbound, and one inbound, and the man was being brought down, spokesman Steve Coleman said.

Ten protesters were arrested on the upper level on Wednesday when they walked into lanes carrying a banner about immigrant rights.

This is a breaking story. Check back for additional details.
