The largest cat show on the East Coast is coming to New Jersey this weekend.

The Garden State Cat Expo will be happening this weekend in Somerset from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The most anticipated event of the day is the cat show,presented by the Garden State Cat Club. The cat show showcases over 400 cats who compete against one another. These cats will move on to compete in the regional and national competitions. There will be ambassador cats traveling through the hallways available for petting.

There will be education classes concerning cat care, training and general information to the public about cats.

Not only will there be a cat show and education classes, there will be numerous of other events. Adopt-A-Cat Foundation will be looking for people do adopt and care for these cats. There will be a shelter cat contest which includes competitions between cats that are available for adoption with the best whiskers and the longest tail.

"Exhibitors come from across the United States and oversees to be involved in this Expo, and in the past the event has drawn in anywhere from 2,500- 5,000 attendees," said Brenda Flahualt, president of the Garden State Cat Club.
