Former Bay Head Police Chief Sentenced For Theft
A judge has sentenced former Bay Head Police Chief Charles Grace to three years in prison for stealing thousands of dollars from the town and the police union.
Grace must serve at least two years in prison before he'll be eligible for parole.
The Asbury Park Press reports Grace admitted stealing more than $35,000 worth of checks from the Bay Head-Mantoloking P.B.A. and using the money for himself.
He also admitted using municipal funds to buy personal items.
Grace was police chief from 2005 until he was charged in January 2011.
