Firefighters battle fire near Times Square
NEW YORK (AP) — Firefighters battled a two-alarm fire in a building near New York’s Times Square that’s home to a popular Irish pub.
The fire department says the blaze broke out around 5:10 p.m. Saturday in the three-story building where Connolly’s Pub and Restaurant is located.
The fire eventually spread to the roof of the building at 45th Street and 6th Avenue. It went to a second alarm around 5:30 p.m.
No injuries were reported.
Connolly’s has three locations in the area and advertises itself as a haven for Notre Dame football fans.
The Fighting Irish were at halftime of their home game against Rice when the fire broke out.
