Mario Scarnici of Monmouth Junction, accompanied by his two adult sons, presented the third and final winning ticket from the August 7 drawing according to CentralJersey.com.  Another winning ticket was sold at the Acme supermarket in Little Egg Harbor while a third was purchased in Minnesota.

Scarnici’s win was mentioned in a press release issued by the New Jersey Lottery that notes the recent run of six jackpots won with tickets purchased in the state during 2013.

Lottery spokeswoman Judith Drucker said Scarnici always purchased his tickets at the Stop and Shop supermarket on Route 1 in South Brunswick, which received a $30,000 check. She did not know if Scarnici would be speaking to the media.

As did the other winners, Scarnici took the cash option which made the jackpot worth $258 million. Each winning ticket had a value of around $86 million before taxes, making each ticket worth $62 million.

In New Jersey lottery winner names must be made public but do not necessarily require a press conference and major announcement. The holders of the other winning ticket purchased in New Jersey dubbed themselves “Ocean’s 16,” a group of sixteen employees who work for the Ocean County vehicle maintenance department.

Powerball is on the grow again with no winner since August 7. Saturday night’s drawing has an annuity value of $92 million and a cash value of $51.4 million.
