BOSTON (AP) — The elevator contractor being sued by a South Jersey woman who was severely injured in fall down an elevator shaft at Fenway Park is placing blame on the company that installed the elevator and food service workers at the ballpark.

Otis Elevator filed a third-party complaint in Suffolk Superior Court against Schindler Elevator Corp. and Aramark Services. The complaint alleges Schindler was negligent in maintaining the elevator and Aramark employees damaged the elevator while using it to transport food and equipment.

Schindler told The Boston Globe  that the complaint is without merit. An Aramark spokesman said he could not comment on pending litigation.

Elisabeth Scotland of Brigantine, New Jersey, sued the Red Sox and Otis for unspecified damages after suffering severe injuries in a 25-foot fall last May.
