Driver Killed in I-295 Crash at Start of Morning Commute
An early morning fatal crash on Interstate 295 in Florence led to delays much of Monday morning.
New Jersey State Police say a black Honda drove off the road and into the woods just past exit #5 southbound around 5:30 a.m. The unidentified driver was ejected from the car and was pronounced dead at the scene.
6 ABC reports the driver was trapped underneath the car and was the only occupant. Pictures from TV helicopters showed the Honda on its side.
New Jersey Fast Traffic’s Jill Myra reports delays developed as police closed off all lanes temporarily for their investigation of the crash. The right lane was then closed off for most of the morning. Rubbernecking delays developed on the northbound side.
