NJ Transit spokesman John Durso Jr. says the Midtown Direct express train was heading for New York when it broke down just after 8:30 a.m.

That's causing delays up to 45 minutes on the Northeast Corridor, North Jersey Coast Line and Midtown Direct service.

PATH is honoring NJ Transit rail tickets.

Midtown Direct trains have been diverted to Hoboken.
