Dharun Ravi Found Guilty on Some Charges in Rutgers Webcam Spy Trial

The jury has found Dharun Ravi guilty of some charges.  Please check more soon for further updates.   Ravi, a former Rutgers University student, is accused of using a webcam to spy on his roommate’s tryst with another man days before the roommate committed suicide.

The case attracted national attention after the roommate committed suicide. The verdict on all charges against Dharun Ravi is expected to be announced shortly. Jurors had deliberated for a total of about 11 hours.

Ravi faces 15 criminal counts, including bias intimidation and invasion of privacy.

His roommate, Tyler Clementi, jumped off the George Washington Bridge just days after the alleged spying in September 2010.

Twenty-year-old Ravi faces 15 criminal charges. A conviction on the most serious, bias intimidation, could lead to a 10-year prison sentence.
