DA: Man Kills Wife, Self Inside Allenton, Pa. Hospice Unit [VIDEO]

Authorities say a man shot and killed his elderly wife in the hospice unit at an Allentown hospital, then turned the gun on himself.

District Attorney Jim Martin says it happened shortly after 1 p.m. at Lehigh Valley Hospital.

The names of the shooter and the victim haven't been released.

The hospital was not evacuated.

Hospital officials are declining immediate comment.

There does not appear to be a threat to the hospital. "This appears to be a discreet incident confined to the 4th floor of the patient's room," Lehigh County District Attorney Jim Martin told WFMZ TV.
