Critics Bash Chris Christie For Election Move
New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is being criticized from the left and the right as hypocritical for his decision to hold a special U.S. Senate election in October instead of during the November general election.
The move, announced Tuesday, is expected to cost New Jersey taxpayers $12 million.
Christie said he wanted to give voters their say as soon as possible.
But the governor's critics say the move is at odds with Christie's budget-cutting reputation and the bipartisanship he showed last fall in the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy, when he embraced President Barack Obama.
