Cremains Found Buried Near NJ Potter’s Field
Authorities are trying to find the person who buried what appear to be cremated human remains near a potter's field in New Jersey.
The well-tended grave was near Camden County's Lakeland complex in Gloucester Township.
The burial site was under a tree overlooking a hill.
Investigators found the grave marked with a small cross, a stuffed animal and a statue of a kneeling cherub. There was a mat and fresh flowers.
The items have led investigators to suspect the person buried there was a child or possibly an infant.
Authorities say the ashes were labeled with a female's name, but investigators have not been able to find a death certificate for a person of that name.
