Despite Gov. Chris Christie's efforts, his poll numbers in New Hampshire are still barely 5 percent.

Instead of attacking the number in the latest Monmouth University poll, he attached the pollster, accusing Patrick Murray of creating the poll just to aggravate him. Christie even called Murray a "liberal advocate."

In the process, Christie also took a swipe at Monmouth University itself.

“I’ve never paid attention to a Monmouth University poll in New Jersey. And by the way, it’s the Monmouth University poll. Anybody really care? You think nationally people are waiting on the edge of their seat waiting for the Monmouth University poll to come out?," Christie said.

The problem for Christie is that while this made a good sound bite for the New Hampshire media, the Monmouth University polls have been, historically, pretty accurate.
