The visit is technically to campaign for GOP gubernatorial candidate, Walt Havenstein, who has little hope of winning.

The frequent trips only adds more fuel to the fire that Christie is using his role as Chairman of the Republican Governor's Association to boost his own future chances in a possible presidential primary.

Christie is shooting down suggestions that the out-of-state travel is hurting his reputation with New Jersey voters.

Two recent polls show dips in the governor's job approval rating.

One pollster believes the presidential buzz may be to blame, but Christie said the number do not support that conclusion.
