Gov. Chris Christie is continuing to weigh-in on national policy issues.

He has appeared on news shows recently to push for Congress to renew the Patriot Act.

It's a chance for Christie to engage in a national debate, criticize Congress, and sound tough on crime.

He said lawmakers deciding the issue have no real experience dealing with terrorist threats, while he has as both a federal prosecutor and New Jersey's governor.

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) opposes extending the law. Paul said Christie's recent comment "wasn't very nice."
