New Jersey's top law enforcement officials plan to release details during a morning press conference in Mercer County Thursday of a child porn sting that resulted in the arrests of 40 people.

According to a press advisory from the the New Jersey State Police, the majority of charges include possession of child pornography and the distribution of videos and images depicting underage and pre-pubescent children engaged in sexual activities.

The 40 arrests include at least one person from each of the state's 21 counties, according to State Police.

The arrests were part of an operation that scanned internet traffic to find out who was sharing and downloading child porn files across the state.

New Jersey Attorney General Christopher Porrino and State Police Superintendent Col. Rick Fuentes are both scheduled to attend the 11 a.m. press conference at the Hamilton Technology Complex in Hamilton.
