As we get to ring in the new year, 2014 will certainly be remembered as the year of Bridgegate in New Jersey.

Gov. Chris Christie entered the year riding high.

He had just been re-elected in a landslide and possessed enviable approval ratings, which approached 70 percent.

Everything changed, though, when the now-infamous email surfaced, which said 'time for some traffic problems in Fort Lee.'

While Christie has not been implicated in Bridgegate and has recovered from much of the impact, the scandal still hovers over him and poses potential hurdles as he gets set to kick-off a likely presidential run in early 2015.
