Bomb Threat Puts UConn on Alert
The University of Connecticut is on a shelter-in-place order after a bomb threat was made to the school's admissions building.
A notice on the school's Facebook page states "There has been a bomb threat at the Tasker Building, also known as the Admissions building. If you are in or near this location, please evacuate immediately. All other locations: shelter in place. No events have occurred and the police department is investigating."
Students and staff at the Storrs, Connecticut campus are instructed to take shelter wherever they are. They were also told on the campus website not to travel onto campus.
The Hartford Courant tweets that a bomb squad, tactical team and state police are responding to campus.
The threat comes less than 24 hours after a gunman killed 3 people and injured 16 at Fort Hood in Texas.
