Here’s the parade route – Come meet us by the start at our staging area to take pictures with Big Joe and get into one of our photo albums we’ll be posting from the parade!
Here are some pictures from this morning’s Irish breakfast, a parade tradition. Plus, Big Joe continues checking in to Christopher Knight with his live updates getting ready to ride in the parade.
Today, Big Joe will be accompanied by the New Jersey 101.5 Big Yellow Van, The Ocean County Pipes and Drums and Long Branch Trolley, you can’t miss us, join in the fun.
We got to meet the guys who came out from the NJ Federal Firefighters Honor Guard. The members of the Honor Guard render honors and respect for all the professionals who have proudly served.
The parade was started in 1974 (38th annual)…the first parade had a few fire engines, a handful of marchers and bands…2012 has tens of thousands of marchers from all over the state…it is New Jersey’s biggest parade…(not because I’m in it)
Grand Marshall is John Carr former president of The friendly Sons of the Sheleileigh and Deputy Grand Marshall is Jane Gould
The parade steps off at 12:30. Get updates here all day.
