Mets fans are soaking up their team's astonishing playoff run to the World Series because they are certainly aware that it is not always like this.

New York's last World Series appearance came in 2000, where the Mets fell to the cross-town Yankees in five games. Their last championship came in 1986.

Fans are continuing to celebrate and waiting to find out who the Mets will meet in the World Series, beginning Tuesday.

    This song flooded radio airwaves when the Mets last made the World Series in 2000.  It was even used as the Mets' fight song, with a version called "Who Let the Mets Out?"
