Two women are arrested for leaving an 8-month-old baby behind following an attemmpted shoplifting at the Wegman's supermarket in Cherry Hill.

24-year-old Kristi Kline of Wilmington, Delaware and 30-year-old Christine Frater of Carlisle, Pennsylvania are suspected of hiding merchandise in a shopping cart where Kline's 8-month-old son was also placed according to WPVI TV.

Police tell the television station that when employees confronted the pair they ran out of the store leaving behind the grocery cart and the infant.

Kline and Frater were arrested in the store's parking lot and charged with shoplifting, possession of heroin, possession of a hypodermic syringe, and possession of stolen property. Kline also faces charges of endangering the welfare of a child.

The Patch of Cherry Hill says the baby was turned over to a family member.
