WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP (AP) -- The pilot of a small plane had to make a sharp turn to avoid a drone over South Jersey.

The FAA tells NBC 10 the pilot of the Piper PA28 spotted the drone when he was about 1,000 feet over Washington Township in Gloucester County on Sunday.

The pilot said he was forced to make an evasive turn to avoid hitting the drone.

No one was injured.
