NJ Transit buses are resuming normal service into New York City after an accident near the Lincoln Tunnel caused problems Wednesday.

Traffic was diverted through Weehawken and the bus lane into New York City was closed for more than three hours after a tractor-trailer overturned on the Helix.

NJ Transit spokesman John Durso Jr. says about 150 buses carrying approximately 5,500 passengers were diverted to Secaucus Junction and NJ Transit trains honored bus passes until 8:10 a.m.

Officials righted the truck and cleaned a fuel spill by 8 a.m.
