Friday I had the pleasure of grabbing lunch at 709 in Pt. Pleasant. They were hosting a benefit for The Ashley Lauren Foundation. 100% of the proceeds from the Mark "The Shark" Burger went to the foundation and the great serving staff at 709 donated their tips to the cause. The burger was the brainchild of Mark Levine a feisty kid who had a passion for cooking and unfortunately lost his battle with cancer in May of 2010. It was his wish that his Mark "The Shark" Burger be on a menu. Chef Mike from 709 made that a reality Friday. I went to 709 to support The Ashley Lauren Foundation, which does an outstanding job helping children with cancer and their families and to support Mark's dream. The burger was great, the crowd for lunch ample and the atmosphere was electric. Thanks and congratulations to Chef Mike, owner Carmen and the entire staff of 709 for making the day such a big success and keeping Mark's dream alive. If you didn't make it down there Friday you can always help The Ashley Lauren Foundation; here is the link Ashley Lauren Foundation's Website. Thanks for allowing me to be a part of it.
