The Zogby Analytics polling has Hillary Clinton leading New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie by 14 points, 47 percent to 33 percent. Clinton also holds a significant margin over former Florida Governor Jeb Bush 49 percent to 32 percent.

The numbers show the strength of Clinton's candidacy, but also marks her first time under 50 percent against potential Republican nominees.

Despite the stench of Bridgegate and a major state budget shortfall, the poll is a positive for Christie, with strong support from men and independents.

While none of these 'candidates' have formally announced their intentions to run, the new figures offer a glimpse into their opportunities and problems in 2016.
