72-year-old NJ man charged in road rage attack on woman
STAFFORD — A 72-year-old man is facing a third-degree aggravated assault charge after an alleged road-rage incident took a wrong turn.
Police said John Huth Jr., of Barnegat, got into some sort of road confrontation Tuesday with a 56-year-old township woman on Route 72.
Police said Huth then followed the woman into the parking lot of ShopRite in Manahawkin where he sprayed her in the face with mace.
Police tracked Huth to his home and arrested him. He was later released.
He also was issued several motor vehicle summonses, including for reckless driving.
Police did not release an arrest booking photo of Huth.
