2 people shot in New Brunswick

NEW BRUNSWICK -- Two people are in critical condition after they were shot in New Brunswick.

Police found a 43-year-old man shot in the lower back in the area of Throop Avenue and Delvan Street just after 9 p.m. Monday.

Officers were flagged down near Livingston Avenue and Handy Street, where they found a 23-year-old woman with a gunshot wound to the chest in the backseat of a vehicle.

Both victims were taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital.

Police do not have any suspects.
