Cliffside Park officials tell The Record that the two officers, both 22-year-old males, were trying to cross Walker Street when they were hit around 6:30 p.m. Saturday in the suburban New York City borough.

The woman who was driving the SUV has been questioned by police, but no charges have been filed. The cause of the accident remains under investigation.

The officer who underwent surgery was in very serious condition on Sunday, while the other officer was in serious but stable.

The names of the officers and the driver have not been disclosed.
