2-month-old infant found dead in Newark, police say

NEWARK — A 2-month-old infant was found dead inside a city residence late Monday night.

Katherine Carter, spokeswoman for the Essex County Prosecutor's Office, said the child died in the mother's residence on Chadwick Avenue.

An autopsy is scheduled to be performed Tuesday to determine a cause of death.

Carter said the baby was found dead after EMT's responded to a 911 call.
