There's mild weather expected for the weekend and a New Jersey winery is a great place to chase away some winter blues.

Saturday also happens to be National Drink Wine Day. But with these award-winning Jersey spots, any Saturday is a great drink wine day — amirite? Cheers!

1. Auburn Road Vineyards (Salem County)

Sunday, Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday - Noon to 5 p.m. & by appointment
Auburn Road Vineyards offers a European-style wine bar in Salem County. The American Red “Winemaker’s Blend” has been known to win a gold medal (Beverage Tasting Institute Regional Competition). They also crafted Rosalita, a Sangiovese wine that's gone over big with Bruce Springsteen buffs. Auburn Road has policies for large groups, so call ahead.

2. Cava Winery and Vineyard (Sussex County)

This Sussex County winery is on State Route 94, with views of the Sussex Skylands. "Cava" is Italian for a mine, in tribute to the area's rich mining history. Cava hosts weekend tastings, monthly events and dinners with wine pairings.

3. Coda Rossa (Gloucester County)

Coda Rossa bills itself as a "small winery with a big passion" for making exceptional wines. The name comes the “red tail” hawks in the Gloucester County vineyard.  As always, it's best to call ahead.

4. Hawk Haven (Cape May County)

For winter, open Saturdays 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. & the rest of the week 11 a.m. - 5 p.m.
This south Jersey winery between the Delaware Bay and the Atlantic Ocean touts "perfect growing conditions" for high quality vinifera wines. Among the wines to look for: the Hawk Haven 2012 Cabernet Franc has gotten acclaim (New Jersey Wine Competition & Governor’s Cup Winners).

5. Heritage Vineyard, (Gloucester County)

Heritage Vineyard runs Guided Winery Tours on Saturdays. At last year's New Jersey State Fair, the NV Jersey White (Riesling 52%, Chenin Blanc 32%, Muscat 12%) and NV Jersey Peach wines grabbed gold medals and acclaim. Heritage also has received 90+ point ratings for wines such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Chambourcin and their Reserve BDX blend.

6. Iron Plow Vineyards (Burlington County)

Iron Plow is a boutique farm winery with the goal of supporting the Eat-Drink-Local movement. The Burlington County spot also offers weekday tastings by appointment.

7. Old York Cellars (Hunterdon County)

Open daily from noon until 5 p.m.
This Hunterdon County winery runs complimentary tours on Saturday and Sunday. Groups of 6 or more require a reservation. Among wines to look for the 2014 Syrah/Shiraz and 2015 Pinot Gris/Grigio just received silver and bronze medals, respectively, at this year's San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition.

8. Plagido’s Winery (Atlantic County)

Plagido’s Winery is a family-owned business with deep roots in its Altantic County vineyard! I'm talking late 1800s, among Hammonton’s pioneer farmers, through now. Plagido's was named Winery of the Year among last year's Governor's Cup winners.

9. Tomasello Winery  (Atlantic County)

Tomasello Winery is NJ’s "oldest continuously owned family winery" founded in 1933. The Atlantic County winery owns 68 acres of vineyards. Its fruit wines have become well-known to locals, but Tomasello also took home medals for its 2014 Sangiovese, 2014 Palmaris Reserve Chardonnay, 2013 Blaufrankisch and 2013 Palmaris Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon last year (Beverage Tasting Institute Regional Competition).

10. Valenzano Winery (Burlington County)

In just over 20 years, Valenzano Winery has become one of New Jersey’s largest producers. From its Red, White & Blueberry Sangria to Jersey Devil Honey Wine or Shamong Red, there's a lot of Jersey flavor packed into each bottle.

11. Working Dog Winery (Mercer County)

Working Dog Winery is an easy ride for Central Jersey wine lovers, with over 100 acres in Mercer County. Working Dog had several wines receive medals in last year's Governor's Cup, including its 2015 Traminette, 2013 Merlot, 2013 Retriever, 2013 Cab Franc, 2014 Sangiovese & 2014 Chardonnay.
