Paterson Police have charged two teens after a so-called "knockout game" viral video showed an elderly man getting slugged in the face and falling to the ground.

A 17-year old boy — who police said was seen in the video punching the man at the corner of Rosa Parks Boulevard and Van Houten Street on Dec. 7 — faces charges of aggravated assault and endangering an injured victim, according to NJ Advance Media. That teen remains at large, according to the report.

A 16-year-old boy who police say recorded the incident turned himself in to Paterson Police on Saturday afternoon, according to the report.

Police have not released the names of the teens due to their ages.

"This shameless act of violence was thoroughly investigated and the tireless efforts by the detectives involved is commendable," Paterson Police Director Jerry Speziale said in a statement cited in multiple reports. "The juvenile at large will continue to be sought with the same tenacity and will face swift and decisive justice for this senseless act of violence."

In the video, a young man approaches the apparent victim as others off-camera yell "don't hit him." The a young man says something to the person that cannot be heard.

The young man turns back to the camera, and another voice tells him "knock him out." The young man throws a punch at the victim, who falls flat, as an off-camera voice laughs heartily.

After many receiving many reports about the video, Police director Jerry Speziale said in a video posted on the Paterson Police Facebook page earlier this week that the incident was being "vetted out" as to where and when it occurred, and who created the video.

Police ask anyone with information about the incident to contact them at 973-321-1111.
