New Jersey chime time. It's 10:08. Good morning, Kyle Forcini. Good morning, EJ. Good morning, Judy Franco. Wait, where the hell is she? I don't know where she is this time. She's not in the hut. Uh, she's not fasting. She something. She could be in the hut. It's the end of the hut. Okay. The hut began last week. It ends today. Today's the last day of of soot. That's what it's called. So, she'll be back tomorrow. In the meantime, you got us until 2:00 today at 1800 283 uh 101.5. you know, um, today is a very special day around here at the radio station. Uh, you informed me of this earlier. I wasn't aware. Today is October 15th or 1015 day. How about that? How about that? Happy 1015 day. In celebration, I am wearing my New Jersey 101.5. Yeah, that's old school OG jacket today. I walked in, I said it looked like a varsity jacket. You know, it's like an oldtimer 1015 jacket. It is. It's nice. It's It's OG early 2000s. Also, uh customer uh appreciation sale happening today and all our sales folks are here working very very hard. So if you hear from them, buy lots of advertising, keep us employed. Uh so um I just got a text and it says it's from the New Jersey MVC. Final notice, Kyle. Enforcement begins October 17th. That's the day after tomorrow. Our records indicate that as as of today, you still have an outstanding parking ticket. Oh no. Um, I guess if I don't go online immediately and pay this ticket, uh, enforcement will begin and I'll get my license suspended if I don't pay it. I better do that. I better I better click this link that I got on my my text and pay that right now. Click this sketchy link, give them your social security number, put your credit card information in, and pay it. I guess a lot of people are getting these things today, but it got me to thinking about tickets. Now, knock wood. I haven't gotten a traffic ticket in many, many years. How about you? Me neither. It's been a while. I've been pulled over, but I've gotten out of it. I don't know how, but I have. That's your good looks. Maybe that haircut. Well, that might be why. No, that was prior to having the long hair. So, it was prior to having the haircut Dennis and Judy hated. Or maybe you said, "Do you know who I am? I work with Dennis and Judy." And that got me out. Yeah. Now, honestly, I haven't even been pulled over in a really long time either, though. I mean, I the last couple of times that I have, it's been over a year since I've been pulled over, but the last two times that it has happened, I I haven't got a ticket. And maybe it's because it's an infrequent amount of times I've been pulled over, but I've gotten out of it somehow. Yeah. Uh I think I got one in Falsam. Falsam's down uh near Hamilton. I was going a little fast on the Black Horse Pike, got pulled over, had to go to got the ticket from the state trooper. I mean, I was going too fast and you know, went to the court and, you know, did what I had to do. But that was a long time ago. Um and and I didn't get out of it because I don't have a PBA card. I know some people that do have those PBA cards. Mh. And I guess they work, but there's they've sort of been um uh there was a a report earlier this year that PBA cars were being abused and I guess somebody wanted to get legislation going where these PBA cards would be uh you know illegal, gone, but that hasn't happened yet. Uh courtesy cards are giving dangerous drivers a free pass. A report earlier this year said video show drivers using their connections to get out of a ticket and New Jersey officials are being advised to stop allowing these breaks. Uh here's an example of somebody that got out of one of the uh getting pulled over from having one of these tickets or one of these cards. Uh, a man who was driving faster than 90 mph and admitted to having a couple of drinks was sent on his way after presenting a card that suggested that he was best friends with a police officer and I believe showed the card as well. And this again, this was caught on those body cams that the police officers wear. Police caught up to a driver going more than 100 miles per hour and then let go after learning that her dad's a lieutenant and a driver uh committing a laundry list of offenses, the cop's words, and showing signs of impairment was free to go after indicating that he was a good friend with a high ranking law enforcement official. So between I guess these connections that people have and having those PBA cards, there are a fair amount of people in New Jersey getting out of traffic tickets of which I never was able to do. It kind of feels like we talked about yesterday where if you have a connection in the working world, that's always going to be the thing that that helps you out the most, right? It's hard to pretend that favoritism doesn't exist. It could be for a job. It could be for getting out of a ticket. So I do I like PBA cards? No. Have I I have them. I've had multiple. I've never used them. I've never once been pulled over, flashed the PBA card, said, "Look, I know this person. Get me out of the ticket." Right? Just not the person that I am. I would feel dirty doing it. I've been with somebody who tried it one time and the card got taken away. And so, I know that it doesn't always work, but for me, it feels a little bit dirty, but I kind of feel like these are like it's the favoritism that I know that we want to pretend doesn't exist, but it does. Well, there's that story out of Cranford, too, that we have on our news today about maybe some favoritism regarding the person who drove the Jeep into the girls on the ebike. We have that story posted right now at nj1015.com. But, uh, basically, we want to know, have you ever gotten out of a ticket? Do you have a PB card? Does it still work? Or maybe you just got out with your good looks. Uh, like Kyle, no. 1800 283101.5. Yeah. What have you done to to get out of a ticket? because I've always felt that just being honest and being respectful with the police officer has been the best way of going about it. Now, EJ, I'm sure that you I'm guessing you feel the same way about this. I don't know for sure. Anytime I get pulled over, you know how sometimes people you can see it on body cam footage are disrespectful to the police officer and they end up getting a ticket and they don't understand why, right? Anytime I've ever been pulled over, it's like my heart rate starts going faster than it ever has. I get incredibly nervous. I don't know why because I'm going to give the officer everything that he needs. I I am assuming that I'm going to be okay. It's just for speeding or something, but I'm always again heart rate is going a mile a minute. I'm incredibly nervous when I see those lights come on. It's like I'm shaking in the car and I'm just polite and respectful to the officer and maybe he notices that and because he sees that he's more willing to let me off and not give me a ticket or maybe I haven't committed some crazy driving infraction where I'm going to get one regardless. That's what I have felt has always been the easiest and best way to get out of it is just be honest and be respectful. I would argue that some officers are probably equally as nervous because they have no idea what they're stepping into. That's true. You know, when they pull anybody over and maybe there's a sense of relief when it's somebody that is respectful, you know, cuz they don't get that a lot of the times. Could be the case. Yeah. I never even thought about it from that perspective, but I'm sure that they deal with a lot of people who are not like that. Yeah. Uh, so 1800 283101.5. Tell us about the times you've been pulled over and did you ever get out of it? And do you have a PBA card? Do they still work? 1800283101.5. You can also check out on our our app chat. Yeah. Andy and Murray Hill checks in right away and says that he got the same text last week that you got on a group text for the uh mine was a group text. So at the top it's got all little circles. You and a bunch of other people got to pay this this ticket. What's going on over here? Yeah. If you're going to do that scam, I would think it would be more effective if they did it individually and not on a group text. I should start a friendship with all these people on this scam group text. I I'll have a new cluster of friends. I get those, you know, I get the outstanding tickets that I have to pay or I get the classic where I get the job is offering me $700 a day. All I've got to do is work for five minutes and they'll pay me. Right. I I Who is this working on? Who Who is fallen for these kinds of things? And I feel bad for the ones like this with a ticket where someone's actually like trying to pay this. They feel bad. They get nervous. They see they owe money, right? And they pay it. I'm not clicking on that link. No way. No, don't. That's like cuz I haven't gotten pulled over for anything. Yeah. So, I I know I don't owe anybody any any any ticket money. God forbid. Right. And and I I saw a thing on Reddit, too, of somebody who had been pulled over. Now, they were pulled over by somebody who was not a police officer. They don't think it was an unmarked car. Oh. Wasn't dressed like a state trooper, but regardless, they said that they were going to get, you know, the person that pulled them over in quotation marks, right? uh was going to send them like a a text or an email with the the tickets that they had received or whatever and they were posting about whether or not this was legit. And the first thing people were saying was if a state trooper pulled you over, they're not going to they're going to give you a ticket right then and there. They're not going to do this, right? Where they're going to send you a text and say, "Oh, you've got this ticket, this whatever." So, there's all other scary I don't want to say scams out there. Well, there are creeps out thereeps out there working around pretending to be cops. I've heard of that. I And it makes you think, should you ever pull over for an unmarked car? Yeah, I've heard rules about that, too, cuz I've thought about it where if you're on, you know, say a highway and it's late at night and and somebody's going to try and pull you over, but it doesn't look like a cop car to just keep driving. I've heard stories of people who say that like that's what you're supposed to do. Now, my fear would be that it is a cop and he just thinks I'm trying to run away from them, which doesn't make sense, but I've heard of these before. And if this happens in a community that you know well, drive to the police station, right? And that would probably be the safest place to deal with that. If you're going somewhere on the the turnpike, you know, and you're getting pulled over, but then again, would you get that would that happen more in like a back road, you know, where somebody is uh pretending to be a cop? Would that happen on a road like the turnpike? I would think it would happen on a road like the turnpike. Yeah. But anyway, 1800 283 101.5. We want to hear your stories about the times you've been pulled over. Do you have a PBA P I can't say that PBA or uh and do they still work? Give us a call or check in on the app chat 1800 283101.5. Also, the Outwork Payday still going on. Another $1,000 for you after New Jersey Fast Traffic. Are you ready to create your dream? Judy Franco back tomorrow. It's Kyle and EJ today on New Jersey101.5. Uh there's been a push to do away with PBA cards. Saw a story published earlier this year at NJ1015.com. Do you have a PBA card? Uh and has it helped you get out of a ticket? And if not, tell us your ticket stories in general. Do you have to pay it? Do you get out of it? just general ties. You've been pulled over at 1800 283101.5 Tony in Milstone. Hey Tony, you're on New Jersey 101.5. Hey, so it was a really windy day on the on the Jersey Turnpike. I was getting away from a truck. I had to pass him. I did about 8 I was doing about 8590. I think that's what the cop said, right? I got pulled over by this trooper and he he you know, I was really cool with him. I told him what happened and I guess because I had one of those police license plates, the ones with the blue badge, right? Um, between that and I think just me telling him honestly what happened, the guy let me go. Oh, okay. Just having that license plate you think made a big difference. I do. I do. And you had a and and and you had a story to tell that he found believable, right? Oh, it was it was so windy. Like there was like while he was pulling me over like he was even getting blown away by the wind, right? And I told him legitimately I had to get away from that truck. It was it was swerving. Wow. All right, Tony. Thanks for calling New Jersey 101.5 1800 283101.5. Uh want to hear your ticket tales in New Jersey. Uh 1800 283101.5. Kyle with a few app chats checking in. Yeah. So interesting kind of what our last caller was just talking about. Mike in New Providence chimes in on the app chat and he says he's a retired police officer. When I stopped people, the first words that were out of their mouth usually determined whether or not I was going to write them a ticket. So Mike has given us kind of the firsthand example of be respectful, don't be a D. And you've got an opportunity to get out of the ticket. You know, I I was thinking speeding earlier, but I did get pulled over for rolling through a stop sign. And I've told you this story before where uh I I I stopped right away. cop came up to me and said, "So, you uh you can stop. You just chose to let it roll." And I said, "Yeah, I I chose to let He goes, "Honestly, it's the best policy." And he let me go. Yeah. I mean, don't try lying. Although, I've always heard that if the cop asks you how fast you're driving, you're supposed to say that you don't know. I've never known why. You'd probably be incriminating yourself, I guess. I guess. But again, there goes the honesty thing. If I'm in, you know, if it's a 45 mph zone and I'm going 60 and the cop pulls me over and asks me how fast I was going and I say, "Look, officer, I know I was driving 60. I should have, you know, just I should have been doing better. I shouldn't have done it." Doesn't that give you a better chance of getting off than to pretend you didn't know? Cuz if you don't know how fast you're driving, that's an issue. Yeah, you could say, I know I was probably going a little fast, but at the moment, I wasn't looking at the speedometer, so I don't have the exact number for you. But yeah, I think maybe I was going a little fast. Uh the other thing too and and you had mentioned this earlier what your dad told you be respectful. Yeah. And I think there there were like two or three there were three rules my dad said about driving. He's obviously look out for deer. He always said that. Um but he also said you know know how to change your tire. That was the another thing. And then the other was just be respectful if you're pulled over. Just yes sir, no sir. Keep your hands on the wheel. Yep. And that all goes a long way cuz like I said before the cops probably as nervous as you are whenever they pull anybody over. No idea what they're walking into. 1800 283101.5. Let's check in with Duke in West Iron. Hey Duke, you're on New Jersey 101.5. Good morning, guys. Morning. My father was a retired New York City cop. They give family members a little tiny uh silver badge that I have on the outside of my wallet. Back in the day, and I don't drive like a nut anymore, but back in the day, my sons were wrestlers. One in Buffalo, one in North Carolina. And I was always speeding. I would get pulled over, put it on the console, and I would wait till the officer said, you know, first, do you realize how fake that end? Then he said, "What's that?" And uh I would say nine out of 10 times, you know, he let me go with a warning, but I never said, you know, right away tried to show him the badge. Yeah. Um again, I don't drive crazy anymore, but it got me out of numerous tickets. And Duke, you said you put it right on was it on the dashboard the whole time or you just took it out when you needed to? No, the console, my center console, as I was taking my license out, leave it on the console, give him my paperwork, and I'd wait for him to say, you know, what is that? Who is that? And let let him notice it before you respectful, right? I'm sorry. You're saying let him notice it before you put it in his face. Correct. Yeah. Gotcha. That's a good move. Thanks, Duke. Thanks for checking in New Jersey 101.5. You know, that's interesting. So, again, now we have B. Daniels, who chimes in on the app as well and says, "I have a gold card. I never abuse it and I never give it to a cop, but they see it in my wallet when I fish out my driver's license and they ask about it and I just tell them that it was a family member of mine and it's a sentimental item to me. That almost feels it's not passive aggressive, but I don't know. It It feels a little weird to just have like the cop need to notice it. I would almost feel like if I was a cop, and if you are a cop and you've been through these situations before, let me know if I'm right or wrong here. I would just want you to hand it to me. you know, the the act of like trying to see if I'll notice it. It almost feels like I don't know how to explain what I'm trying to say. Yeah. But these things are becoming more um criticized. You know, it's under a microscope right now because there's been this this story since last December. Yeah. That there are lawmakers that are critical of these PBA cards. So, if you put it right in front of the cop, his dash his body camera is going to pick up pick up on that. But if you leave it on the center console and cuz they're they're scanning anyway. They're coming up. They're looking at you. They're checking you out. They're waiting for your documents and they're looking all around the car for any bad stuff that might be going on. So, they're going to catch that. I I think if you hand it to them and if it's and if the PBA card is being criticized, the body cam's going to pick it up. That's fair. It felt It just felt a little dirty to me, but I guess you kind of, you know, fix that. Maybe that is the way to go about it versus just handing it to someone cuz like I said, I've been with somebody. Now, this was prior to the PBA cards coming under fire. It was when we first started driving, so seven, eight years ago. Um, I was with a buddy of mine who had a PBA card, got pulled over. He was driving without his lights on at night, didn't realize, and I was with him. Cop comes to the window and he hands the PBA card over and the cop looked at it and said, "Well, what do you collect in here?" Baseball cards. And took it and never gave it back, and it was gone for good. So, right. I've also seen it where when you just hand it to the officer, he may not give a damn. So, well, like on that episode on the Sopranos, here's your Daily Sopranos. Uh, uh, we haven't had one in a few days. No, I know. I have, but but Tony was pulled over by an officer and I he knew uh they both knew Congressman No, Assemblyman Zelman. Yeah. Yeah. And I don't Did Tony present a card? I'm not sure if he presented a card. I don't believe I don't remember what he did, but the officer didn't care. Yeah, the officer didn't care. Um, and Zelman got the guy to um Well, no, he he moved him to a desk job. He had to work in like the the supply room or something like that. Yeah. And um and then he ended up making less money cuz he was the cop wasn't on the street anymore and he worked part-time at a garden center. Yep. And he runs into them there. Yeah. When he's buying a bird bath or something like that. Yep. I remember that. 1800 283101.5. Want to hear about your ticket? Tails here in New Jersey. And do you have a PBA card? Does it still work? Uh Murphy's new school history curriculum is as phony as it gets and where town's Albert Music Hall. Learn about it all right now at nj1015.com. Taking your ticket tales at 1800283101.5. Let's check in with Joe in Byram Township. Hey Joe, you're on New Jersey101.5. Hey, how you doing? Um many years ago I was coming back from a concert in New York City. I was on uh Route 23. Uh, I don't want to name the town, but I was in a rural section of Route 23 and I pulled to the side of the road with my friends in the car and um I was urinating on the side of the road. Yeah. And it happens. We've all been there before. It happens. It was 1 or two in the morning and uh next thing I know there's a cop behind me with the lights on. So, um you know, I give him my uh information, license, and all that. And then uh he writes me a ticket and I said, "I don't know if this is going to help or not, but I had my my best friend's father was a captain of police in another town. It wasn't a PBA card. It was just a business card, right?" And I handed it handed it to him and he said, "Why don't you show me this before I wrote the ticket?" I said, "I don't really know if it would have mattered." So he goes, "You know what you do? Write out the check. Send send it in and that you don't have to go to court." So I did that. I sent it in. Sent the check in. A week and a half, two weeks later, they sent me back to check. So, you got out of it. You had to go through the process, but that you still ended up technically getting out of it. Right. I got out of it. And you didn't have to go to court, which is, I think, a bigger hassle than just paying a check, right? Exactly. So, I paid I paid I paid for I wrote the check, but they sent me the check back, so he must have squashed it in the in the meantime. Plus, I mean, that that's a ticket for public urination, I guess, right? I mean, that's probably a hefty ticket to get. I I don't I forgot what it I'm talking many years ago. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I think that ticket I'm talking over 30 years. Yeah. That ticket's much more complicated today because they'll get you for a public urination and in some cases it's a sex crime. I know. Yeah. Crazy. And it's biology. You just have to take a pee. Joe, thanks for calling. It was in a it was in a rural section. So, but it was funny cuz they sent my check back. I didn't have to pay anything. You must have squashed in the meantime. Today that wouldn't happen. That would not happen today. Joe, thanks for calling New Jersey 101.5. Yeah, I mean that that's like a maybe 30 years ago it's different, but nowadays I mean you got to be careful if you're doing something like that. And especially if you're doing it in the early morning hours, I'm assuming the officer thinks you're a little drunk. The officer is going to have you go through a whole round of those sobriety tests or something to make sure that you're all right, right? And then you still get hit with the urination ticket. Not great. We we had an officer show up. Uh we it was um New Year's Eve. We were down in Pitman at my brother's house. We were all gathered with the family and you know, we hung out. We slept over. Next morning, we leave and my kids were in the back seat and my daughter felt nauseous from being in the backseat of the car. So, we pulled over and uh she got sick on the side of the road and the the cop thought that my daughter was like throwing up cuz she was drunk, but she's like 15 years old, you know. But I may or maybe it was just a uh a welfare check to make sure we were doing okay, you know. But but I I'm sure he thought that the person puking was drunk from New Year's Eve and but she wasn't driving though either, right? She's in the back. We were driving, but still, you know, a bunch of throwing up drunk people in the car. Let's just say wellness check, but yeah. And no check. We didn't I mean, no tickets, so all was good. Let's check in with Bill. Bill in Long Valley. Hey, Bill. Thanks for calling New Jersey 101.5. Yeah. Hey, how you doing, guys? Good morning. Morning. I had uh experience a while back with uh I I've got a a detective badge, a friends and family, they call it detective badge from New York Police Department because I have friends and family in the department. And I carry a I carry a badge case with my license in it. And I don't get stopped that often, but the last time I got stopped, when you open the badge case, you see the license and you see the badge. So the officer was at my window and I opened it and he looked in he goes, "All right, what are you?" Ah. I said, he got I I said I I said, "I'm nothing." I said, "It's a friend and family." He says, "All right." He said, "So, we had a little conversation." He said, "You know, I asked you that question." He says, "Because we see everything now." He said, "We see we see everything from gold cards to baseball cards to PBA cards to business cards." He said, "It's just insane." He said, he said, "Everybody I stop has something." So he said it's becoming less and less meaningful unless you have something like a friend and family badge or the other the other card that's uh fairly failafe is called the 200 club. Each county has a 200 club and it's a donation you make to the police uh and and fire uh uh fund for families that where the police officer or the fireman is uh is is is injured or god forbid killed. Right. And uh they that that is that is that'll get you out of just about anything other than of course DUI. But I think it's just interesting the police are so sick of seeing everybody hand them something. They're it they're they're crazy about it. Okay. What are you? Yeah, Bill. I would also suspect that with AI being as good as it is now that anybody could recreate the exact look of any one of these cards. So very true. They're probably going to see probably going to see more and more of that. Bill, thanks for calling in from Long Valley on New Jersey 101.5. Feel bad for those who don't have a card at that point. If everybody's got one that they're trying to show the officer, the poor soul who doesn't have one is definitely getting a ticket. If the officer is just used to seeing those, right? Uh on the app chat, Howie writes in and says, "Military personnel can show military ID and it will help the cop know that he's getting someone that's respectful as well." Killer Tick says anybody, and this is back to we were talking about people pretending to be a cop and how that story I was telling you about where someone got pulled over on a highway. Uh says that anybody pretending to be a cop isn't going to want to draw attention to themselves. So, they'll probably be on a back road and do it so it's not around as many cars because if they do it on a highway like the interstate, other state troopers will pull behind them to assist and then they Yeah, that's what I thought. Sounds like Killer Tech might be in this business. He knows what he's talking about. I suspect that that would be on the more of the county roads and the back roads in the local road. But if you're on the back roads, you're just less likely to run into people. So if you're out there trying to be a weirdo pretending to be a cop, you're just going to be sitting out there waiting for the one car to pass by on the back road. Those weirdos are lurkers or, you know, and or maybe they they do that with somebody they're already stalking. You know, that's a good point, too. Yeah. Weird. It's scary world out there. Judy's back tomorrow. There's a push to do away with PBA cards. Those cards that help you get out of a ticket. Have they helped you get out of a ticket? Does yours still work? When was the last time you got out of a ticket? 1800 283 101.5. Bob in Ringo checks in on New Jersey 101.5. Hey Bob. Hey. Good morning. U EJ. Um I enjoy listening to you. I was a real big fan of Dennis, but uh I'm becoming a real big fan of yours. Oh, I really appreciate that. It's really really nice. You know, I have so much respect for Dennis and he and I have a long uh uh friendship going back to the 70s and I got to work with him here for a lot of years and uh I'll be honest with you, I was nervous about, you know, coming in here and filling the time that Dennis was on and uh so saying things like that is very meaningful to me. Thank you. Uh so my son is a New Jersey state trooper. He he graduated from the police academy a year and a half ago and that's an ordeal. That's that's not easy. But, uh, he gave me a goal card, but 3 days before he graduated, I put his badge number on my left shoulder. And a lot of times, uh, first off, I don't since he became a state trooper, I drive a lot more cautiously because I don't want to embarrass him with like saying your your father went through a stop sign or something like that. So, I really try to watch more carefully now. But if I did get pulled over, I wear like a sleeveless shirt a lot of times and ah that would be the ultimate PBA card. Yeah. Take a look at my shoulder. As the cop comes up, it's like I I look and I say, "Hey, would this help?" That's my son's badge number. And uh it it works very well. Yeah. I never thought of that. Feels like the ultimate get out of jail card there. Yeah. Kyle and I were considering tattoos a couple of weeks ago. We we said if the Phillies would have won out, we would have gotten tattoos. And thankfully we don't have any tattoos whatsoever right now. We didn't have to get the Phillies t but but maybe we're going to do this. We we get the PBA card on our tattoo. Yeah, that's that's the only tattoo I have. Only one I want. Yeah, that works. All right, Bob, thanks for calling New Jersey 101.5. Yeah, I think his tattoo would get him out of a ticket. I don't think ours would have done much. Officer, I'm a big Phils fan. Can you get me out of this ticket? No. No, we would have It's good that the Philly thing didn't happen because we want to get one tattoo. That's true. We'll we'll get the PBA card. We'll find a police officer and get their badge number badge number right right on our tattoo. I So, I'm pretty sure PBA cards expire because I've had and I haven't gotten a new one in numerous years. People who work here and I don't think it's a bad thing to say it. Eric Pototts, who's was a police officer, retired police officer, has given them out before. Now, he hasn't done it in a couple of years now, but I've got one from him that's from like 2022 or 2023. I hired him. He never gave me one. Eric, I'm so sorry that I just added you on the air. Um, and I've got a couple of other ones from other people that I know that were police officers, but again, it's been a long time since I've ever gotten them. So, I I don't think that the cards now, God forbid, if I ever showed it to an officer, I'm pretty sure they would just take it and not give it back cuz they expire after a certain amount of time. I think they're like they're supposed to be updated every year or that's how it used to be. with the whole push to ban them. I don't know what the exact situation is, but I've never used it before when it was valid. Now, I definitely couldn't use it. So, and I think I have them in my wallet. I can show you in the break what they look like, what it's about, right? I mean, as far as using it, I've never done it. Well, they've been under fire, these PBA cards, since last December. There's a lot of lawmakers that want to do away with them. Uh, so I don't know if I'll ever have one. Well, it is kind of like a get out of jail free card. And it is like, hey, you're driving 95 and a 60 and you're driving recklessly just because you know somebody who's got some connections, you're still driving like an a-hole, right? And you should get ticketed for that. Absolutely. Regardless if you have the uh the card or not. The story nj1015.com points out again situations caught on police body cams of situations where people should not have been let go, but they were out of connections or from having one of those calls. which raises the question and I know that it was in the article on our website of you know if you're you feel invincible basically if you know you've got that out you can drive however you want and not have any repercussions for it and that's not good for anybody else that's on the road you know scary enough to drive out there then you've got someone who knows that they're all good and can get out of any ticket they'll drive how they want a busy day ahead of us Kyle uh they have 133 uh near Heightstown closed again today boy uh they're still working on that Cameron Diaz movie we we thought they'd be done but they're still going at at it. Also, Mega Millions up in very high stratosphere right now. We're going to talk about that later. That's right. October 15th, 2015 1015 day. Our day today. Thanks for joining us. A woman upset at a customer taking too long in the line at Marshalls in Hudson County allegedly bought kitchen knives from the store and used one to stab the shopper. Authorities said, "Have you heard about this, Kyle?" I have. This is insane. The the victim was stabbed multiple times in front of her family at the Carney store. According to police, the incident started at around 6:15 on Saturday when Amber Thompson, 25 of Newark, got into an argument with another customer over the speed of the checkout line at the store on Payic Avenue, police said in a statement. Oh my. So, Kyle, my question to you and our listeners, have we completely lost our patience as a society, or is this just an extreme example of everyday rage? And what's the worst behavior that you've ever seen in a story line? I think it's a lack of patience coupled with extreme rage from a customer. And I know I feel that when I go to a restaurant and I have to wait for a table. Yeah. But I'm not going to stab anybody. No, I have to deal with that. The other day my uh I was going out with a bunch of my friends Saturday night. It's 45minute wait at the restaurant, but I didn't have any kitchen knives on me, so I didn't really have much to go at him with. You could have stayed home and ate and then you would have kitchen knives. See, that's you're right. And I should have probably done that. Instead, we waited for a while. You would not have had to wait. No, I could have just made it all by myself, but instead waited 45 minutes. But look, people have lost their minds, that's for sure. I don't think that that's anything new. I think we know that people are crazy out there, right? But there are definitely shopping pet peeves that we all have. I know I have them. I'll get to mine in a little bit, EJ. And I think that's one of the questions we have. And the line thing could be one of my pet peeves because when I go to my favorite supermarket and there's one line to go to the selfch checkout. Yep. Uh, and there's another line for the man or the woman. The person, the cashier. The cashier. The Yes. The attended checkout. Yes. Uh, that that uh they'd have one, but they should open two. You know what I mean? Um, so yeah, the lines can be a little long. Or in the selfch checkout, they have two open, but they have four machines that aren't open. So, the line is too long. That's a good one. So, I typically will always go to selfch checkckout if possible. Now, if the line is too long or if I've, god forbid, you know, you're supposed to have 25 items or less, they say if I've got more than that, I will go to the actual cashier that has the line, the attended checkout. But yeah, I always am just amazed and and look, the grocery stores or wherever likely know better than I do about how many registers they need to have open at a given time, but I'm always shocked at the fact that there's, you know, there's probably eight or nine potential lanes and one or two of them are open. Maybe they just expect the majority of the people want to go to selfch checkout. But yeah, I'm always like, man, if I have got too many items, I've got to wait behind five other people cuz we got one line open. I think they have the limited lines open because of security. Uh have a better idea of who's in line, who's got what, and if more lines are open, or that that people are more likely to walk out with stuff. If they have one concentrated line for one person or two people, maybe that's why they're holding back. But yesterday, I was grocery shopping. Not at all. He was in another store yesterday. Um, and I Well, you're cheat You're cheating on Aldi. Well, sometimes you need to get spec I needed to get rice noodles. Aie didn't have that. I needed to get kind of dry ginger ale. Aldi didn't have that. I needed to get a mix of mushroom for a stir fry I'm making on Friday night. Specialy items. I'll go across the street to get super I do the same thing. So, I hit a snag at the selfch checkckout. Um, I'm going to hit the wrong button and it says, you know, please wait for cashier assistance and I see where the cashier assistant person is. Well, they're they're just outside their booth and they're talking to two other employees and they're looking at their cell phone. Yeah. Yeah. H So I, you know, I had to say, "Excuse." And it was just a simple little thing to push a button and, you know, Yeah. They they come in and work their magic. They entered something the wrong way or whatever it was, but they weren't paying attention. That's always like my biggest fear, by the way. I hate that when I'm at the selfch checkckout. I've usually got my headphones in, I'm minding my own business, and I press the wrong button and it's like, "Please wait. We system process and you need someone to come help you." And I'm like, "Ah, come on." Well, I know some stores when you make a mistake, it it'll flash a light at the top of the selfch checkckout, but at this particular store I was at, there was no they should have been probably looking at the screen at their cashier station for the selfch checkouts. Not looking. So, I had to kind of go after him and say, "Can you please help me?" I don't know. I don't know what's worse having to go ask for help or the screen flashing. So, everybody in the store, they're like, "Get a load of this guy. He can't do this thing right. He's an idiot." Boomer boomer. or me standing there with my headphones in and everybody's looking at me like I got seven heads cuz I'm a dope who can't figure out the selfch checkckout. Yeah. So, what are your shopping pet peeves? I guess a lot of it has to do with maybe the the service you're getting from the store and if you are a clerk at the store, the customer from hell stories 1800283101.5. This has got to be the worst that happened to this marshalls up in Carney where a lady was in line arguing with another lady in line about how long it was taking to taking to get through the line. Crazy. Yeah. I mean, I'm sure people who work in retail or the grocery store have plenty of insane stories from these uh just in in real quick each of the article that was on our website about this stabbing that happened at a Marshalls. So, it happened outside the store if I'm getting this correctly. So, the the victim was with their family walking to their car and then the person who had purchased the knives went out and stabbed them. So, I you got through the line. I don't know why you had to take it out after you've gotten through the line. Yeah. And then the person ran back into the store. The asalent ran back into the store. I guess it was probably Well, I guess both the people that were arguing maybe one the person that did the stabbing clearly was more upset about waiting in line than the person that she stabbed. And maybe the person that she stabbed was defending that there was only one checkout open and and told maybe just told her to chill and and she didn't. And then she went goes back in there and buys the knives and meets the lady in the parking lot and stabs her. So, if you've got a I mean, I'm sure nobody's got a story quite this crazy, but if you worked in retail and you've got any kind of of horror story because customers I I mean, working in the restaurant industry, I know customers can be a pain in the you know what, right? But when you get someone in a retail store or a grocery store, people don't really think about how they're acting. It's only about yourself. And if you're angry about something, you're going to take it out on the employee. This is not unlike road rage. It's the same thing except you don't have a car surrounding you. Store rage. you have your shopping cart and and your packages and your things that you're in the checkout line with and and yeah store and you know you talked the bigger question is about where we are today as a society with all this everyday rage and clearly this woman who did the stabbing is mentally ill. She's got to be um but but it's gotten worse over the years and sometimes people wonder why has it gotten worse? Why is tolerance levels much lower than they used to be? Why is there more road rage? Why are people getting stabbed uh outside marshalss? Um, I would think, and I brought this up with the traffic yesterday, that my commute here years ago used to be an hour, now it's an hour and a half. I think there's just more and more people living in the area. We're more, you know, that we're just there's just more population in general, I guess. And and and we only have so much space to move around and we become day in and day out less patient with everything that surrounds us because of all the chaos. So Kathy in Maple Shade chimes in. We were asking about why there are fewer cashier aisles that are open. Kathy says, "I used to work in retail. They don't have enough cashiers cuz they don't want to pay cashiers." They're always cutting hours to keep their payroll budget. Um and that's one of the reasons why they don't have them open. Yeah. That's uh I remember being a kid and every aisle would have a cashier there checkout line. Yeah. Going to the grocery store with my mom and you know there would always be the cashier aisles open. I selfch checkckout either wasn't a thing then or wasn't as big as it is now or if there maybe there were two lanes that you could go to to selfch checkckout.out.out.out.out.out.out.out.out.out.out now there's like eight machines that like you said sometimes only two of them are open which makes no sense. At some CVS's I don't see a a cashier at all. Yeah. I just see the selfch checkckout. The CVS that's right next to my apartment is the same thing. There is um two selfch checkckouts and it's not a very crowded CVS as is. There's never anybody in there but there's never anybody at the cashier register or there's just no one ever there. you could walk there and need help and you're just if you don't scream for help, no one's going to know you're even in there cuz they're in the back on their phone or doing whatever. So, and now little by little, they're getting rid of toll booths, you know, on on on the roadways. And but before that, same thing. They they didn't want to have as many toll takers working, so they left one or two cash lines open, and those lines would really back up, I guess, as encouragement to get easy pass. So, your uh your shopping pet peeves, what you see at the store that bothers you, 1 8002831015 or like EJ, we were saying, if you work in retail, we would love to hear from you about any sort of horror story that you have as it pertains to retail. I'll tell you my shopping pet peeve a little bit after we come back from the break here, EJ. And something I saw yesterday that you are going to appreciate at Target. It's going to blow your mind cuz it blew mine. All right. But I'll tell you about it after the break. Okay. And I have a chance for you to win $1,000 coming up after New Jersey Fast. Judy Franco. So, how's your back? Customer on customer crime at the Marshalls in Carney. The question I've been asking is, have have we lost our minds and our patience? Uh, or is this just an example of everyday rage? What's the worst behavior you've ever seen in a storeline or, you know, the biggest shopping pet peeve that you've dealt with? 1 800283101.5. Let's check in with Brian from Hal. Hey, Brian. Thanks for calling in to New Jersey 101.5. EJ and Kyle. Good morning, guys. Good to hear from you, buddy. Morning, Brian. You, too. Good morning. So, it's so funny. And and EJ, you could relate to this. This reminds me of an old comedic skit I saw when I went to a comedy show. I'm 54, so let's say it was 30 years ago. The guy was talking about the evolution of the cashier and he goes because EJ, remember when we were kids, they would type in the skew number. Yeah, they would do that. That's right. Before the scanning. Yeah. Like they would, you know, you went up there, you gave them uh roast beef, they put in 54332, put it on the scale. So, it was a process. Then he started talking about, you ever see these scanners? And he basically at the end of his skit was like, you got to get to a point where people are only going to need one arm. You know, they're going to have like a little hook. to push things through. And he was right. But I think of that every time I go to the supermarket and I'm doing the selfch checkout and you you scan your waffles and you put them on the scale and it'll be like, "Please remove item and put back on and it and it's more work going to the selfch checkout than it is going to the line." Yes. The regular line. And sometimes if you put something prematurely on, you know, where the bagging area is, unexpected item in the bagging area, you know, that's what that's what I'm talking about. Yeah, that happens all the time. Um, I want to scream and yell, but you know, I have to be a gentleman cuz, you know, people know who I am and I don't want to get a bad reputation out there. Yeah. So, the frustration I with me yesterday is I I I I forgot to push a button like when you asked cash or card and I guess I forgot to push card. I just put my card in, entered my PIN, and then the machine got very, very confused. Wait for cashier assistance. Well, cashier assistance I I mean, I'm pretty tolerant person, probably too tolerant. A minute or two go by, nobody's coming over. I'm waiting and I look over to where the cashier is in their little booth and they're having jolly time. They're chatting on their phones and stuff like that and say, "Hey, can you come over and help me out?" And then they show me the stupid thing I did. But still, they should have been focused on their screen. They should have been there right away. Oh, yeah. I'm gonna start charging them $15 an hour because I do more work than the people that work there. Exactly. They they also Brian should have the uh bagging area for selfch checkckout. It needs to be bigger because you need to place all your items there and you can bring up to 25. Happened to me the other day. I'm using the selfch checkckout. I don't have enough room in the bagging area to put all my items. So then the machine's going to get all tripped up and then everybody's looking at me like I'm crazy. I feel like I'm crazy. It's it's annoying. First world problems, guys. First world problems. It's a very good. Always great to hear from you, Brian. Thanks for calling. New Jersey 101.5. A New Jersey shopper stabbed a Marshall's customer taking way too long in line. I guess they were buying a lot of stuff. 1800 283101.5. What are your shopping pet peeves? You can tell us instead of stabbing somebody. Well, yeah. Don't do that. Don't do that. So, I hate the fact that no place has the shopping basket anymore. And I know that supposedly it was because people were stealing them. Stealing the baskets. Yes. It's wildly frustrating that I'll go into a grocery store. Happened to me yesterday. I went to Target with Ally late at night. We were getting some stuff, whatever. And we ended up getting more than we needed, but we didn't have a shopping cart. So, I'm walking with, you know, we're both juggling all these items arms, of course. And then all of a sudden, I'm realizing, oh, we need two more things, but can we fit these two more things in our hands? And now, we could have gone back and got a shopping cart. We didn't. Whatever. But you need the basket cuz the basket eliminates the cart. If you got, you know, you need 10 things. You don't need to get a big cart for 10 things. You look like a fool. But if you've got the basket, it makes it way more sense. Did you drop anything? No, but I was getting close to it. I kept having to rearrange stuff as I'm walking throughout the store, right? And if I just had a shopping basket, all would have been good. You know, when I drop things when I get home, I try to do like all three bags, the soda case, and whatever else all in one trip. And my wife says, you know, take two trips. No, I could do this all in one trip. Well, for and I do the same thing because I live on the fourth floor and I don't feel like having to go all the way back down get more. So, I always try to do everything in one fell swoop. Never works. Always have to do multiple trips. Yeah. But I try. Uh, let's check in with Karen. Hey, Karen. She's in Brick on New Jersey. Hello. Hello. Actually, the three the three worst is one one woman stepped away to grab something and put it on the you know how you have see something on the aisle and you go get it. Yeah. Another one pushed her stuff out of the way. Well, they started to kind of argue vehemently and I called get to get security over here quick. They got her just before the other one slugged her. They had to put her in a bear hole, a bear hug to stop her from slagging the other woman. Whoa. That uh gets worse. There's another case where there was an ambulance out and they said, "Well, what happened?" It was a hit and run. I go, "What kind of car?" It wasn't a car. One woman hit another woman with a shopping cart. Knocked her down so bad they had to take her out on a stretcher. Oh my god. Wow. And then another lady didn't like the way another woman was putting her stuff on the belt either and she shoved her down and the woman broke her femur. Oh my goodness. Broke her femur. That's major. Geez. But you you you've seen things Karen. Yeah. I can't a bunch of things, but those are like the three worst. Yeah. Oh, how long were you a cashier? First thing I thought, not horrible, but there were this one couple. They started, they were like middle-aged, and they were hugging and kissing and getting really hot and heavy. They were getting so amorous that it made the uh younger cashiers blush. Oh my. They were getting uncomfortable by this. It's like they were going to go right down there on the belt. Yeah. Nobody wants to see other people's PDAs. No. How long were you a cashier, Karen? Huh? How long were you a cashier? Oh gosh, between two diff between different jobs about 40 years. Wow, that is a long time. You could write a book. Department stores and in grocery stores. You and some grocery stores are a little bit more violent than in other grocery stores. But holidays, they get nuts. When they the turkey fights for Thanksgiving, people start elbowing each other trying to get a turkey. Oh man. And I've had people grab something out of somebody's other's hand and walk away. My husband was getting a chicken and he was walking away and somebody grabbed it out of his. She goes, "I saw it first." She goes, "You were nowhere around." She goes, "I was deciding if I wanted it or not." And I do. That's mine. You know, my wife had something similar happen about a year ago now that I think of it. She was go at a produce store and she was going for a pumpkin and the other there was a woman there that kind of reached for the pumpkin around the same time and there there was a bit of a tussle over the pumpkin. Well, my wife's not going to make an argument about a stupid pumpkin. She just loves lady lady ever stupid pumpkin. But uh yeah, you've seen all kinds of things. Karen, thanks for calling New Jersey 101.5. 1 800283101.5. We were talking about this story out of Carney at the Marshalls where a lady was taking too long in line. It was just lasted too long and lady behind her became impatient. Went back into the store, bought some kitchen knives, and stabbed the lady that was taking too long out in the parking lot. So, I still got to tell you, and I know we got to take a break. I still got to tell you the crazy thing I saw at Target. So yeah, something that'll blow EJ's mind and it blew my mind and I heard a lady who walked by me say the same thing. She was dumbfounded at what we saw in Target yesterday. Something that you saw just yesterday at Target. This is like breaking news. Yes. Happened less than 24 hours ago. Kyle's breaking news right after our news at 11:30 on New Jersey 101. Ladies, October is Judy and EJ show. New Jersey 101.5. I'm EJ. He's Kyle. This is John in Perth and Boy. Hey John, you're on New Jersey 101.5. How are you? Hey Judy and EJ, I'm doing well. What's going on? So, apparently you you you want us to stop going to the selfch checkckout, right? Well, here's the thing. I don't want to oversimplify it, but here's my take on it. Whenever you spend money on something that's highriced or you go to a place that makes these changes, you're giving them your business. You're telling them it's okay. You're telling them you like that. Stop going and stop using the things. Ask for another attendant. Speak up. The companies are cheaping out. And I don't have all the the, you know, the details on what happened in Carne, but I would venture to say that it's the store's own negligence that got these two people aggravated. I'm not justifying an attack. There's never any reason for that, but I mean, it's time to push back. You know, they're just they really don't care. You know, stop giving money to companies that hate you is basically my theme. You're saying so speak up as in like have them have more cashiers there so that way the lines move faster, right? Or just don't support any of this madness. If they're all automated or they have all AI, don't go there. They'll they'll feel the pinch when they're not making Well, yeah. You would think that the sustainable advantages the stores have today is the human touch because anybody can get anything from Amazon and these brick andmortar stores are losing business to that. So, you would think they would be stepping up the service. Correct. You would think so. I I I would go out of my way if I knew I was going to get good service and I've done that many times. I appreciate that. I run I run a small business on the side. I go out of my way to make sure people are happy with me and they like my service. you want to plug your business? Um, yeah, that's cool. I mean, I don't have a a direct website up yet, but I'm on eBay and I'm also on whatnot. Uh, K A Z J O H. I do all kinds of all kinds of good stuff. All right, here's the good stuff. Here's to you, John. And here's the good customer service. 1 800283101.5. Talking about this story out of Carney where a New Jersey shopper stabbed Marshall's customer who was taking too long in line. got us to thinking about our shopping pet peeves. Not to the point where we're going to stab somebody, but where we could vent about it here on the Judy and EJ show. So, a lot of people chiming in about selfch checkout. Uh KMBB says, "I never like selfch checkout. It's cumbersome for the reason that you guys mentioned and it also puts people out of jobs as they want us to do the cashier job for free. I never we should get a discount, right, for doing the selfch checkckout." Yeah. I mean I mean and what uh John was just saying, you would need so many people to be in on this, right? like you're not going to make a dent me not going to wherever Target anymore because their selfch checkout's bothering me. That's just what they're doing now. And it's been like that for a really long time now. A couple of years. So before the break, you told me with the Target yesterday. Yeah, Target last night and something happened that blew you away. So I was in the store. There's a lady walking. She's got groceries, EJ. She's Wait a minute. She's where? She's walking in the store. She's already in the store. I see her in one of the aisles and she's holding groceries in her hands. She's got groceries in the top part of the cart. So, you know where like the little babies, the baby sits, right? In the middle of the cart, the big shopping cart of the cart. There's about an 80 lb dog. A dog. An 80 lb dog. And the lady who's walking past me at the same time. I heard her mutter under her breath, "How the hell did she get the dog in there?" And I thought the same thing. You had to lift this thing up to get it in there, right? The dog and just pushing around the dog. So, this is the opposite from what I saw at Aldi twice now where the lady had two dachshunds. Am I saying it the right way? Yes. The dachshunds. Yes. Uh in the front part where the baby part, the baby seat and the groceries in the back. This is the opposite. Groceries were in the front. 80 lb dog in the back. So, the dachshun you could lift up and put it in there. Yeah. Two things. Maybe maybe the dog jumped up into it. Presumably, cuz the lady didn't really look like she could lift the entire dog in there. Two things. One, leave the damn dog at home. What are you doing? The dog's on a leash. What are we doing bringing this thing to the grocery store with us? That's my That's my first thing. Maybe she was the dog seeing eye person. Second thing, I don't know. My immediate reaction, although shock and being like, "How in the world is this possible?" I was like, "Oh, there's a dog." Oh. So, I think I'm part of the problem where I'm I'm not like, "This is disgusting. We need to get this off our earth. No dogs in shopping stores." I was like, "Oh, that's kind of cute." When these bizarre things happen, we just have to start snapping some photos. I should have. I No, I should have taken a picture. Every time I go into audio, I'm looking for the lady with the dogs. I want, you know, I want to take a photo of it and write an article about it for nj5.com. I mean, I was taken it back and I couldn't believe what I had seen. But again, the poor dog. I mean, it's got no idea. He things on a leash. He's in the car. He's just It's not the dogs. The dog have a vest on. Emotional support dog. No, nothing. Just a normal normal dog. Just a leash and a collar on. No any blanket that says emotional support animal. No vest, no nothing. didn't say don't pet the dog. It was just panting in in the front of the cart. I guess there's there's purse dogs. Some people have their dogs in the purse and then there's like child seat dogs. And again, and there's main part of the shopping cart dogs. Yeah. So, the the dachshunds and the purse dogs, you can you can pick them up. I'm telling you, I should have taken a picture to show it to you because it was about an 80 lb dog. I don't know what breed it is. I'm horrible at dog breeds, but I mean, this thing was a very large dog just standing in the cart. That's nuts. So, yes. what in the world is wrong with the owner? But also, it's never a bad thing to see and just the the fact that the person thinks that they can get away with that, you know, the entitlement thinking you can take this dog anywhere and I and Target sells groceries, too, right? Yeah. I mean, that I mean I mean, nobody should bring a dog into a store unless it's a pet store. Maybe they can go into a pet store, but unless it's a service dog, uh I I shouldn't be bringing a dog into Target. I'm sure the poor workers who are walking around stocking shelves or at the register are thinking, "What the world? What? What's this world come to? This lady just thinks it's all right to bring this dog in the shopping cart. And if you want to bring the little dogs, they're almost sometimes not noticeable. You know, you notice the dachshunds cuz they've barked in the store. I mean, this is unmistakable. You can't look and not see that there is a humongous dog just standing in the shopping cart. Wow. So, there was my bizarre Target story. So, we have similar stories now. The dogs at Audi, you got the big dog at Target. We've both seen dogs shopping and dogs shouldn't be in especially in supermarkets, you know, where there's food. There should be no dogs. Uh may maybe in PetSmart and pet stores and things like that, but not in a in a store where people are buying food. 1800 283101.5. We want you to be honest. Give us a call or check in on the app chat. What's your biggest shopping pet peeve and how close have you come to stabbing somebody? No. How close have you come to snapping in the store? 1 800283101.5. So Steven in Winslow says, "When I scan my items at the selfch checkckout, I feel like an employee. I ask the person helping when the company Christmas party is. Again, to the point of the fact that we're doing more than the actual employees are. We're scanning our own groceries, right? And Pat and Glenmore writes in about the emotional support stuff with animals in stores. He says, "The emotional support pet in grocery stores drives me absolutely nuts." Yeah. And John from Warren also taking a little bit of a dig at me. And he's not wrong. He says that he was shocked that I feel like it's not necessary to have a cart for 10 items and I feel weird doing it, but I'll walk around the entire store fumbling groceries in my hands. Yeah, you're not wrong, John. I should have thought about that before doing it. I noticed that as well that the baskets have disappeared and I just I don't even look for them anymore. Every day I walk in, I'm like, "Maybe today's the day." If I'm getting three items, maybe four, I'll just hold them in my hands. Yeah. Well, I've had the issue though. I told you about where I had eight protein yogurts and the casing they come in is not good. And I'm trying to juggle them with a bottle of juice in my hand and I drop them and they go everywhere. And who's the fool in the store? Me, right? I look like the bozo. Have Have you ever had a situation where you need it required to clean up an aisle three? Have you ever had that happen? Thankfully, no. They didn't explode and have yogurt go everywhere. Yeah, I did that with apple juice once. Yeah. The kids were little. They liked apple juice. And I was trying to juggle too many things. I was in and out of the yak me real quick and I dropped the apple and it was in glass. It was one of those m apple juices all over the place. And clean up an aisle three. I mean, I'm that guy. And you've got the glass that got to be cleaned up too, not just the liquid. Oh, that's that's not good, EJ. No. Oh, the humanity. Uh, we want to hear your stories about your shopping pet peeves. Talking about this story out of Carney where one customer stabbed another because she was taken too long in line at the Marshalls uh in Carney. We want to hear your story. 1800 283101.5. Coming up, traffic and weather on New Jersey 101.5. And it's fall. You know what that means. It's the new Judy and EJ show from New Jersey 101.5. Thank you, Kyle Forsini. Coming up in a half hour, another chance to win $1,000. Don't forget tomorrow the big $10,000 at work payday. Right now, we're talking about the times that maybe you snapped out in a store. Hopefully, it didn't come to that, but what are your shopping pet peeves? Check in with us at 1800283101.5. So, Jerry in Yardley writes in and says, "Just carry the groceries that you have in your shopping bag." So, I guess one of my pet peeves might be the fact that the bag ban happened in New Jersey and you don't, you know, get the the bags afterwards, the plastic bags. You've got to have all the reusable ones you can bring with you. But, I always feel like they're going to think I'm stealing. Like when I go into Aldi, I I'll bring the reusable bags with me and I'll use them on for the way out, but they're with me. And uh uh I have in the past done that, but I always feel like maybe I shouldn't be doing that because it feels like maybe they think you're going to steal it. And I feel like I'm stealing too when I don't have those bags on me, period. Cuz there's been times where I'll go right from work and I'll stop at the grocery store on my way home and then I don't have a grocery bag. So I know I can't get that many things cuz I'm going to have to carry them to my car, right? And I feel like they think I'm just walking out with a handful of things. like, "Oh, this guy's stealing." I just remembered something I saw at at Aldi and it was a really big guy. I mean, really big guy. And and he was big, but he must had an XXXL large Lloyd shirt on. And he didn't have a cart or anything or a basket. He had his shirt like this and he had his big gut sticking out and he all his stuff like in his shirt like, you know, oh, he's a shirt. He's a shirter. It feels like it's terrible. I mean, it's bad. I don't know if you just saw my stomach, but this guy's stomach was like 10 times larger than mine. And it was it was it was gross. What's worse, seeing a Chihuahua or or a dachshun in the store or or shirt guy? I'd rather see a dog than the guy with a belly stick. Nobody wants to see a fat guy belly sticking out. I get excited when I see a dog. I don't want to see shirt guy on that. I'm a semi fat guy. So, you know, I don't even want people to see that either. So, no. And and he's got some some balls to be able to do that. I I envy We had a belly. I I envy people like that who just do not care whatsoever. You get to a point where your given Esser just goes out goes out the window. And I haven't gotten to that point yet, but I'm sure I will at some point. Yeah. I'm jealous of those people. I'm over here worrying about the fact that I've got six things in my arms and people are looking at me like I got five heads. I should just roll them up in the shirt. Yeah. Walk out. Not worry about what anybody else is thinking. Maybe I'll start bringing my dog to the grocery store. Not worrying about that people think I'm crazy. There's a great phrase that I learned at a uh Hogi shop. Uh this is actually over in Philadelphia in in Media PA. Uh and they had a sign in the store that said, "Act like you know." You walk in this just act like you know. You don't know what you need to know when you go into that shop, but just pretend you do. Act like you know. And the secret was you had to go to the back of the store to get the roll and bring the roll up there and tell them what kind of hookie you want. If you went to the front of the line and you didn't have the roll, they would really mock you and give you a really really hard time that you didn't have the roll with you. But but that that phrase has stuck with me. Act like you know. Any situation you go into, whether you know or not, just pretend you do. Act like you know. Just pretend that you do. You know, as far as the dog thing goes, real quick, cuz I was making the joke that I'm going to bring my dog to the grocery store. My my dog loves people far too much to be like well behaved in an environment like that. She would just want to have everybody pet her, right? I I do think that as crazy as it is that people bring their dogs to the store is that you you never see a crazy dog there. You know, people do have that sense that if your dog can't handle it, they're not going to bring them. The dog that was in the cart, like if I put my 75 lb dog that I have in the cart, she would be crazy. She would just want people to give her attention. This dog didn't care. Maybe it was a senior dog. Yeah. I mean, he he obvious he or she was well trained enough to the point where there was no trying to get towards people or being super excited and and con like just dog was chilling. Did Did you ask him who's a good boy? Who's a good boy? See, that's the thing. I love dogs, but I I don't do that. My mom's like that where she'll always she'll want to pet every dog she sees. I'm not like that. I I it, you know, like I said, my first instinct was, "Oh, there's a dog." It was not, "Hey, can I come up and pet your dog?" Well, I felt that way about the Dawsons in in the Dachens in in in Aldi. I I my first instinct was, oh, but I it's a principle of thing. Dogs shouldn't have been in a supermarket. Anyway, next hour we're going to talk about having lots and lots of money to spend anywhere you want, any way you want. The Megaillions jackpot grows again. The jackpot grows because there was no winner last night, Kyle. So, it's up to $625 million. The cash payout $288 million. So, little lottery talk coming up in the noon hour after our traffic weather and news on New Jersey 10 1.5. Hard hats mean hot. Wa! Look at this. Exactly 12:09 is your New Jersey chime time on the Judy and EJ show. I'm EJ. He's Kyle. Judy's back tomorrow. She's uh off for another holiday, but it's the last holiday of the season, so it'll be great to have her here on Thursday and Friday into the weekend. Great Friday game coming up, by the way. Can I Can I promote the Friday game? Let's hear it. Um, I just just have to remember the name. We're calling it News Jersey Quizo. So, you know, years ago, we used to call our news News Jersey. Did you know that? I did not know that. And it's old term, but I I'm bringing it back. So, we're going to do News Jersey Quizo. Simple, sharp, and full of sass. This trivia game, I wrote all this. This trivia game tests how closely Maybe I had some AI help. Uh, this trivia game tests how closely you've been paying attention to the strange, sensational, and occasionally unbelievable stories from the land of pizza and pork roll. New Jersey Quizo on Friday. I'm already holding my breath to hope that I don't screw something up with the operations because we know the game hour is special for you. But last Friday, I screwed up twice. So, that is true. You kept trying to make sure that I couldn't ask a question. I know that was mean, but I'll be much nicer this week. Thank you. I'll I'll ask my questions this week. And I, you know, I I'm ready for this game because I got to say a week ago, you and I were in a totally different place with sports, right? Was it a week ago? Yeah, it was a week. So, we still had hope as of last Wednesday. It was false hope, but it was hope, right? And then the Phillies and the Eagles lose. And then I go away for the weekend. I feel that. But now I'm a little sad again because usually we would start an occasional hour with a little sports talk. Yeah. There's none left. I'm not I'm not excited about any sports right now. I know. It's sad. It's very sad. It's that part. It's that time of the year where that, you know, goes away and yeah, I feel like I've got an empty void in my life. But I I'm I know you wrote about it. I'm jealous of people who don't like sports. I did write about my sports vacation over the weekend. Very jealous of those people. You know what would help our mood? Winning the lottery. Yes. If we hit the You see what I did there? Very good. If you if you hit the Megaillions jackpot, uh would you tell anyone or would you disappear? Would you tell anybody if you won? Here's here's the latest on the lottery. The Megaillions jackpot grows again as there was no jackpot winner in Tuesday's drawing last night. The jackpot will be worth an estimated 625 million. That's the annuity 288.8 million, which is fine for me. And the next drawing is on uh Friday night. So, let's dream a little this hour. What would you do differently tomorrow? What would you do differently tomorrow if you knew you had $625 million in the bank? And would you tell people or would you just disappear? Well, first off, I think I would tell my immediate family, they would know. I would give them money because they're the people that if I So, you know the story or or the way people sometimes will talk about this is like if you have won the lottery, you ask somebody that you're friends with if you can borrow five grand or something and you'll pay them back, but ask them if they would help you out. And if they help you out, you know that there's someone that loves you and would help you out in any situation. And then you can determine that you would give them money. Yeah. I'm not sure that any of my friends would do that. I'm I'm really not sure that they would throw me a bone and give me that sort of money. So, I don't know that I would tell them. I might try and do that little trick first, but I would tell my immediate family. I'd give them all money. Make sure that we're all good there. Uh and then I would go and join all the prestigious golf clubs in New Jersey. There you go. I would go and join Baltis and all these other different courses that are phen Pine Valley if I could, right? Um all the crazy golf clubs in New Jersey because golf is expensive and it's an expensive hobby that I have. I love playing it, but I don't got the money to join a club. So, you'd be an amateur golfer. I would absolutely do that. And uh I would still work, right? I would still come to work, but it would be nice to know that I didn't have to anymore, right? You know, it would be nice that it would almost be like a just a filler part of my day. I'm going to go do this because I want to feel productive and after that, I'm going to go to all the golf clubs I've joined. I ran into a guy yesterday. I was walking out of the supermarket. He was walk He was walking I was walking out um and I hadn't seen this guy in a long time and he's long retired. I said, "Oh, so how you enjoying your retirement?" "Oh, I just had to go back to work." He says, "I don't really don't have to work, but I just I I needed something to do." I guess his nephew started a mechanic shop and this guy had his own mechanic shop and he's retired now, did very well for himself and now he's working helping his nephew out, you know, he just because he needed to go back and he he needed to do something, want something to do. And a lot of people if they win the lottery, I'd imagine they do some volunteering. They do things that they have a passion for. But I guess the question was would be who would you tell first? So generally my wife and I are in together on buying lottery tickets. So obviously we know. Correct. But I think before I even told our kids, Stephen and Lindsay, we have two kids in their 30s. I think I'd call my attorney first, you know, be even before I called the kids, you know, just to make sure that everything's in order, the taxes are right, what I can and can't do with the money. Okay? But I think I would give money to my kids, have them pay off their debts, we would pay off our debts. And I know one dream of my wife is to do more traveling. You know, I've brought this up before about You want to do that Greece trip? Yeah. Sicily would be great to go to Iceland. There's an and maybe go to a lot of shows. You know, there's this guy I don't know if you've ever been to shows down by Philadelphia, but over at the um the Freedom Mortgage Pavilion, there's always this guy that's dressed as Santa Claus. And this guy's at Freedom Mortgage Pavilion, he's at the um what's the new name of the Wells Fargo Center now? The Exfinity Mobile Arena. I think that's what it is. Yeah. Phillies. This guy is like everywhere. And you know he's everywhere because he's the only guy there in a Santa Claus outfit. But I he must have retired wealthy and so he's just getting in as many experiences as he can. So I guess that's what it would be all about. But then again, if you had $625 million, you know, you could make a real difference, too, to make that decision of which charity you would want to donate the money to or maybe you have friends that are So then you get to the point with friends. That's where it gets complicated. Yeah. Yeah. Then it gets that's why I said do the thing of, you know, ask them if you can borrow some money from them. And if they'll throw you a bone, hey, now you can give them some of the money that you just won. But if they're not someone who deserves it, don't do it. Cuz you run the risk of then everybody wanting the money from you and everybody only caring about you for your money and knowing that they can turn to you to help them out. They might not even care about you anymore. They only think of you as someone who's got a lot of money. So you got to be careful with it. And if you don't tell anybody though, I guess that seems somewhat selfish that you're just going to keep it to yourself and not share it. I mean, I'd have a hard time with that. I'm selfish, I guess. I tell I tell my family. No, but if you said you want to find give it to a good person, you're going to ask for help from somebody and if they offer to give you help. Well, then you're going to help them 10fold. Correct. I would do that. But other than that, I'm keeping it pretty much under wrap. So, you've got a couple of messages on the app EJ that we can get to. But first, Mrs. Farcus calling in from New Jersey. What's up, Mrs. Farcus? Hi, guys. Love the show. Thank you. Uh, so I of course I'd have to tell my kids and I'd probably the people I want to help out, I'd probably have them sign some legal documents that if they start blabbing it or that they'd have to pay me money back. An NDL, non-disclosure, right? Like that. I'd probably do something like that. NDA. NDA. Yeah. And the first thing I would do is buy my neighbor's house because I don't like them and they're hard. That's a great answer. Yeah, that's a great idea. I love it. Creative. You you could give them like they'd make a nice profit because I'm sure you'd give them more money than what the house was worth just to get them the hell out of there. Oh, like overnight. I'd be knocking on the door like it's time to pack up. That's a good idea. What What is so bad about the neighbors? Oh goodness. Let's see. How much time do you have? Well, let's see. Um different cars pull in all hours of the night with headlights and then they, you know, go in reverse and leave. Um blaring music. The whole yard has stuff on it. You don't I'm not even sure. I think they still have grass. I'm not sure. And if they do, it's like three foot high. Yeah. Um I would be suspect of cars pulling in and pulling out thinking maybe they were selling something illegal out of there, you know. Right. Exactly. I would think that too. And it's just it's just horrible. Then flipping out at, you know, people at my house that if we're outside like for no reason. It's just so they would that's the first thing I would do. I'd be super excited and I'd knock on their door, have a bulldozer, have everything ready 2 or 3 in the morning. How how long have these people been your neighbors? Five years. Oh man, it sounds like it hasn't gone. Did you reach out at first and was it friendly at first? At first, and then it devolved. Yes. Exactly. Yeah, I can relate. Exactly. And I have a neighbor that always runs their lawn mower whenever we have friends over. We're hanging out in the backyard. We're having a nice time. And all of a sudden, he runs his loud lawn mower. Yes. See, I have I have the same. Or the, you know, they don't pay the electric bill, so then we're, you know, all on the deck and you hear the generator running. Oh, man. I hear you, Mrs. Farcus. Well, good luck with the lottery. Are you going to have tickets for Friday night's drawing? Of course. I mean, you have to play to win. Absolutely. I'll be playing with you. Good luck, Mrs. Farcus. Thanks for the call to New Jersey 101.5. So, what would you do if you won the lottery? 1 8002831015. Love the creative answer from Mrs. Farcus, but it could be anything. You know, we love the creative answers, but just anything you would do. Would you tell someone? Would you keep it to yourself? Who would you help out? 1 8002831015. Real quick, EJ from the app chat. Uh Paul and Yuing says he would buy this you would buy New Jersey 101.5. Oh, okay. If you won a lottery, I don't know that that's your best investment. You know, sometimes I I used to consider that too, that if I won a lot of money that I would buy a radio station. Maybe maybe this one. But then again, it's a lot of work. I don't know. Stacy in Manchester says her kids would know because I have to let the excitement out. Everybody else would just see the signs that I've won the lottery, which I get. Tell your immediate family. Tell the ones that are close to you. And then everybody else just notice you're driving around a Porsche and they get curious, right? Well, you know what has much better odds than winning the Megaillions? What's that? That would be the $1,000 at work payday. I've got $1,000 for you today. I'll have $10,000 for you tomorrow. And I'll have today's uh cash code right after New Jersey Fast Track. Sunny, breezy, and cool. That describes Danzero. He's talking about himself there. He's sunny, he's breezy, and he's cool. Nice couple of days coming up. 1800 283101.5. New Jersey 101.5 is Judy and EJ show. It's Kyle and EJ today. Judy's back tomorrow and we're dreaming a bit this hour. What would you do differently tomorrow if you knew you had $625 million cash in the bank? Actually, that would be on on Saturday cuz the drawing for the Megaillions up to 625. That drawing happens on Friday. And by Saturday, you'll realize that you can just leave it all behind. 1800283101.5. So, possibly the greatest apphat message I think that we have ever received. The greatest app. Yes. So, Captain's Captain's MJ writes in on the app chat and says, "If I won the lottery, I would free the Armenian Bears so we don't have to listen to that commercial anymore." Well, no, we love that commercial. We We appreciate their support of New Jersey 101.5. But, yeah, we are very concerned uh with the with with the Bears. I think I would, if I won that money, I'd free the Bears. I think I would free them, too. Uh, on the action again, B. Daniels says, "I have a big mouth, so I would probably tell everyone I know I won. I would also invest into real estate and keep busy." I think keeping busy is the biggest thing, and this kind of diverges into the conversation of whether or not money buys happiness because I've always said that money absolutely buys happiness. I know that there are things mentally that maybe make it harder. And if and if you know you have something that's that's bothering you upstairs, it could be harder to find that happiness. But for me personally, if I won the lottery, EJ, I'd find a way to be happy. That money would that money would help me be happy. Yeah, it wouldn't be difficult. I know there would probably be some business things you'd have to deal with, some legal things you'd have to deal with, and you probably would get lots of asks, but it's probably worth it. Well, so again, that's why I would keep it to myself. I'd have all this money, right? Keep it to myself. Tell the people that I love, the people that I know that I can trust. And if there's some issues where some legal stuff, whatever, where there's issues that's happened, I've got so much damn money, I'll hire someone to take care of it. Say, "Hey, this is your job. You do this, you do this. I'm not going to be involved in this whatsoever. I'm going to be living wherever I want and uh don't bother me." I would buy Taylor Swift mansion, which sits up on a cliff in Rhode Island and overlooks the Atlantic Ocean. That'd be a nice place. That place looks awesome. Yeah. Would that be kind of cool that you buy something from Taylor Swift? Exactly. I would love it. Yes. I mean, look, I know that maybe it's a shallow perspective, right? And I get that, you know, some people may disagree with this, and if you do, let me know. That's fine. Because I I've always said money buys happiness. Just flat out, I think that it does. Yeah. You know, I think about where we are personally, talking about me and my wife and, you know, where we were like 5 years ago, and you know, finances change a little bit. You're you're still paying college loans for your kids because we wanted to do that for them. um you know people's incomes go up and down so it's a little different now than it was a few years ago but you know I can see the stress sometimes that money can cause people or not having enough of it causes people you know in anything to I don't know see my wife smile and be happy every single day and not worry about money yeah what's the number one thing you worry about is is paying bills or at least in my situation that's the number one thing is is that's look I can do it and it's not like I'm you know struggling to where I'm Um, and I'm very lucky that I'm not, but if I had an infinite amount and I never had to worry about that and I could never think about it, I mean, that would relieve tons of stress and I think that would relieve tons of people's stress out there. And the secret to life is being happy. And you don't necessarily need money to be happy, but boy, it really would help a hell of a lot. It would really, really help. Go to Marie in Somerdale. Hey, Marie, you're on New Jersey 101.5. How are you? Hi, very good. How are you guys? We're great. Yeah, the thing that I would do if I won the money, uh, I have friends that have teenagers they're raising and they seem to be defiant. They think they're 20some. They're going in the wrong direction, staying out all night, maybe playing with drugs, whatever. But I've already investigated who's going to help us steer them in the right direction. And there's no no facility that does this. So, I would open up some type of a program paying kids the same age as the ones that need help, right? We would pay them to act like they're buddying up, friends with them, texting constantly to help steer them in the right direction, get them away from that lifestyle and into something more productive. I like that. That's Marie. How old are the kids you said that are maybe getting into some some bad stuff? They're in their 20s. Yeah. No, they act like they're 20. My one friend has a daughter. She's only 14. Oh, wow. Yeah. So, I don't want this to be insensitive, but like is that on the parents too, Marie, to make sure that they don't get into these kinds of things or is it they're just disrespecting their parents? Lack of parenting out there these days. I think it's their involvement with their peers. Whether the peers are coming from wealthy families and they can afford the cars and they're two years older and they're driving and getting into whatever. I don't think it's the parents involvement too much when you're in your late teens. Gotcha. Yeah. Well, Marie, you're a good soul and you're taking the high road there. And we could have learned a lot from that type of thinking. Thank you, Marie, for calling from Summerdale, New Jersey 101.5. Couple of really creative ones there. We've got the uh buy the house that the neighbors are in, sell it so that the neighbors can get the heck out and help troubled teens. I I probably would move to the cabin, you know, kind of isolate yourself out there. I probably could afford to live there cuz you you would need to have a job. It's three and a half hours away. No, middle of nowhere, Pennsylvania. There's zero economy. By the way, I saw a picture of it on your Instagram over the weekend. I couldn't believe how in the middle of nowhere it was. I thought that, you know, I'm thinking you've got neighbors or something. No, you're just like in the in a field. We're in a field in the field surrounded by woods, but there's nothing there. Um, it's a true like darkness retreat. You can go up there, man, and like Nobody You know what I will tell you? It's it's so dark there at night that you can see the Milky Way. Um probably no light pollution either. Zero light pollution. It's um it's so it's if you for anybody listening, it's in Sullivan County, PA, about three and a half hours from here. Not much up there, but no way in the economy. Uh you know, with the economy, you'd have to have you'd have to well be retired and have a good pension or retirement fund or whatever, but uh there's not much work up that way. Uh anyway, we've got more talk about the Megaillions lottery up to 625 million for Friday night's lottery. were dreaming. What would you do differently tomorrow if you had $625 million? Um, and would you tell anybody or would you just vanish? Give us a call 1800283101.5 or check it on the app chat. Uh, it's 12:30 now at New Jersey 101.5. Jeff Taminsky here. When pain gets always fun to dream about winning that lottery, this time it's the Megaillions. That jackpot grows again. No winner last night. So the jackpot will be an estimated 625 million. Oh, the 288.8 million is the cash. So 625 the annuity. 288.8 million the cash. And that's for Friday night. 1-800 283101.5. If you won the lottery, would you tell people? Would you keep it quiet? What would you do with all that money? 1800 283101.5. Tony in Peton checks in to New Jersey 101.5. Hey Tony. Hey. How you guys doing? Good to hear from you. What's up, Tony? So, yeah, you definitely got to, you know, set up the family trust and do all that stuff. Get yourself all organized first. And then, um, once you get all that squared away, I think what I would do is work on, um, I like New Jersey. The obviously the biggest problem is probably property tax and stuff like that. So, uh, you know, what goes out of our property taxes? What's the highest thing that gets taken out of uh about like 70 something 80% of of that those property taxes go to schooling? Yeah. Um so yeah, that that's I think that in itself is like a flawed setup. There's a lot of money that funneled around school, but um but yeah, like there's this one thing that that I seen. It was a uh a guy who who has like a gymnastics kind of uh facility and he structures helping autistic kids with like all the sensory stuff. Um and uh it works out really well for the kids. So like that that's just like like what those kind what those kids need in that kind of situation and stuff like that works out well for him. There could be just many facilities set up for different types of needs and um uh it could basically be there like a facility set up like a Montasuri school and uh you know like there there could be definitely like the whole structure behind schooling right now. It's just not really working in my opinion. It's like they could be doing things at much of a inexpensive uh uh you know cost to um all the citizens and everything but but so like superintendents for instance some superintendents get paid more than some surgeons. You know it's like what's going on here? Yeah, I hear you. And there are more school districts in in New Jersey uh than there there need to be. There are some school districts that um they have no schools. It's just a district and there's no school. I can think of a couple of them. But uh yeah, we talked about we talked this comes up on the show a lot where we would talk about consolidating districts to county districts, but we're never going to see that happen. Tony, thanks for calling New Jersey 101.5. He so he would put his money to some good use. Sure. Try to help the kids out. Maybe find alternate forms of education. Yeah, I got to be honest. I need some crazy answers though. I need like this. If you're selfish, no problem. Tell us about two in a row where people want to do something that's good for the community. Heck with that. We want to hear about you being selfish. Good idea, Kyle. Good for Good for all the people that would do the kind things. Not by any means saying that's a bad thing. Just plow your neighbor's house down. Yeah, I like that. You know, I'm telling you right out. I'm I'm selfish. I'm keeping most of it. I'll help my immediate family, but other than that, I want to join all the golf clubs I can, hiring people to take care of all my issues, and I'm going to live my life completely oblivious. Would it change the way you eat? H you talking about going to fine dining places, filet man more often? They might lobster more. You like lobster? Oh my god. Yes. Yeah. You know, I saw a thing the other day that's actually very true cuz I saw Ally and I have been seeing these videos. We clearly need to get lobster cuz it it keeps coming up on both of our social media pages and it's like these jumbo lobsters that are being made and we're watching them get made and all the and this guy's cooking them on a grill with a bunch of butter. Oh my god, it looks delicious. And people kept commenting and I think they're right. They said people who claim to love lobster need to just understand that they really just loves butter. And it's really true. It's all you dip it in the butter and that's all you're eating. But yeah, but the lobster meat's good. Um, it's it's good, but the the stuff is great on gone. It makes it so much better. Well, yeah. The butter it's all butter, right? Yes. We used to go on vacation on on Block Island, which is off the coast of Rhode Island, and there would be a lobster in there, and he would go out and he would bring back his catch at the end of the day, and a lobster with one claw is called a a cull. Okay. So, it's got one claw. Yeah. Yeah. He would sell them for five bucks right off the boat. Oh, wow. So, I bring them back to the house we were staying in, boil them up, have a lobster feast for five bucks a piece. Now, when you boil the lobsters, isn't that like crabs? You boil them live. You just put them right in there. It's a little weird. You put them in a live. Yeah. After you play with them first, you play with them and let them have their little their play time before they uh you tease them a little and then you put them in a hot boiling water. Yeah. I mean, I'm not somebody who is uh going to pet a violation here and say lobsters need to be not cooked like that. But it is a little weird. That's the way you cook lobsters. I know. But it's it's strange. Why is that? I don't know. I don't either. I was taught by my family how to cook crabs and lobsters. You put them in boiling water and they turn red and yellow. Weird. Um and then I know a guy that he grew up with my son and he moved up to Maine and got his license to be a lobsterman. So every morning, you know, he's up like on the coast of Maine and he goes out and checks checks his lobster pots and that's how he makes his living. Yeah. That's what you could do, too. Let's say you're in a mundane job and because you can it's it's giving you the income that you need but then you have all this money you you could just do a dream job and not worry too much about it. Just go for it, right? You could be a lobster man off the coast of Maine. 1800 283101.5. We are talking about the lottery, the Megaillions up to $625 million this Friday night. If you won the money, would you just hide and not tell anybody? Would you tell the world? How would you share it? What would you do? uh 1 800283101.5 and we'll check in with your app chats in a second. Right now, let's go to Dawn in Hamilton. Hey, Dawn, you're on New Jersey 101.5. Good afternoon. So, I was telling the girl to answer the phone. I've already have my game plan. I said to my husband, um if I ever won the lottery, I would not say anything. I would go buy a piece of property in the Midwest, fence it in, build my house, have all my stuff, have it moved or buy new. Probably buy new. um put my house for sale, then go claim the lottery and be out. No one would find me, only certain people, because I'm not going to deal with, you know, quote unquote relatives coming out of the woodwork, hey, remember me? I'm the dad's cousin. Yeah. So, I would do it and then be out and like literally claim it in the morning and be going by. I I have a question for you, Don. Um why why the Midwest? Of all places you could go, why the Midwest? I think that would be the place I'd stay away from. because I know like some of it's like, you know, hurricane, tornado alley, hurricane alley, but I want enough property. Um, and New Jersey, you know, it would be cost too much money, but I want to have a bunch of horses. Um, I want to rescue horses. I want to save horses. So, you need a lot of property and there's only certain places you can get as much property as I would need. And I know that, you know, winning the lottery, I would do it. So, I would start like a horse sanctuary and let horses that, you know, normally would not have, you know, the thing and, you know, hopefully rescue some animals and things like that and just, you know, all right, live a good life. Good plan, Don. Appreciate the phone call to New Jersey 101.5, Don. We've got two guys on the line that have great ideas. I love Jerry's and I love Dante's as well. And a really good one on the app, EJ, that we have to get to as soon as we come back. This one I'll I'll keep the name anonymous because I don't think that they're going to want this to go over the air with their name. So, okay. And a reminder at about 20 after another chance to win $1,000 in our at work payday. Tomorrow we've got $10,000 for you. So listen for those details. Traffic, weather, your calls next on New Jersey 101.5. Hello, EJ back with you here. And don't leave. It's the new jersey time.com. So we're just asking for selfish people to call now in this last segment. We had a few people call that want to take the high road and do good and and and help people out and kids and old people and and dogs and cats. And we want to hear from the most selfish people we can find. If you won the lottery, $625 million, the Megaillions on Friday night, how would you spend that money selfishly? And would you tell people or would you hide? 1800 283101.5. Dante in Blackwood checks in. How you doing, Dante? I'm good, guys. How are you? Good to hear from you. Good. Good. Great to hear from you guys, too. You've got one, Dante, that I didn't even think about that I think is a great answer. I know. I want to give a shout out to my group chat, the highest table. Uh, this is something we talked about a long time ago. One thing that I would want to do immediately is hire a private chef. I would not be stepping foot in any restaurant ever. If I wanted ramen, if I wanted orange chicken, I wanted sushi. I want somebody who could do it all. That is great. It's a really, really good answer. Really good. Dante, do you enjoy cooking or do you hate cooking? I love cooking. I'm a Maryland guy, so I heard you guys talking about crabs. Now, we don't boil them. We steam them. So that's that's the big Yeah. I guess I got I got it wrong. You put a little water in the bottom and then you let they sit up on like a little rack and then you just steam them and then they turn red. Yeah, just a little touch until they turn red. So I'm I'm cool with cooking, but again, I'm a Maryland guy, so you know, having crabs, being able to get a boat, get my own crabs, just hang out with the guys, but I wouldn't worry about, you know, having a job. I would be be pretty selfish. I think I'm I'm going to take care of mine. Make sure we eat good and travel. That's it. Yeah. you know, hobbies without the work. Let's say if you want to get into cooking and you love the cooking, but you hate the cleanup and all that kind of stuff, you have somebody else do that kind of stuff. If you have a boat, hire a captain, let them do all the work with the boat, right? 100%. Just wear the hat and look cool. There you go. And you are the coolest, Dante. Thanks for checking into New Jersey 101.5. That's a really good one cuz I don't really enjoy cooking. I do it most nights, but I'm never like really enjoying it. And a private chef would definitely make everything better than I could make it. So, yeah. You know, I like I like to cook Italian meals, you know, and when in those those six months I was not working, I had all the time in the world. And sometimes at the end of the day, I get home from work, I know my wife's coming home and I've got this back timing pressure to having dinner ready on time. And it's different. You know, if I could start cooking at 10, 11:00 in the morning and just take my time and wander out the house, sip on some wine. The back timing pressure is a real thing. I deal with it, too. Watch one more time while I'm cooking just, you know, that would be kind of nice. But you're under that at the end of the day after working you really don't want to do anything. But if you're not working, you want to do everything. So on the app chat again, I said I would keep this person's name anonymous. They say I would give my son $50 million if I won the lottery to leave his wife. Oh wow. Would you would you do that? Would you leave your girlfriend for $50 million? Well, she's not listening right now, so no, I'm just kidding. I I'm going to plead a fifth on that. Yeah, me too. I'd like to try and figure out a way to where I could have both. That would not be nice. It wouldn't be nice. But 50 million, I don't need to be nice. You can't put price on a marriage or a relationship. You're right. You're right. So, I'll say no. No, I'm saying no. A flat no. A firm no. No to that. Don't try and bribe me with 50 million uh to to leave my wife. That That's a That's a That's a touchy one. $50 million is a lot of money. I know. This person obviously not a fan of their daughter-in-law. Uh some people were saying they would buy a yacht if they had that. I wait you I just thought of something. You you you could leave your wife on the surface and make a deal with her just to not bring him around and and then like cheat with your wife and he's and you get to keep the $50 million. Truth be told, $50 million. There wouldn't be many things I wouldn't do if you said you can have $50 million to do this, right? Like I said, there's a there would be a way to make it look like you left your wife, but then still sneak around and keep and she gets half the money, you get half the money. Don't bring her around the in-laws. That's the way to go about it. Solve a lot of problems. Donna in Freehold has a very good one. Says, "I'm a and a very thoughtful one, too." This is another one of those. I'm a retired elementary school teacher. I taught for 35 years. I would rent out Disney World and bring all my past students along with their families. No lines. Nice. Yeah, how about that? No lines. So Disney World's a great one. I went to there for my senior trip when I was in high school and I haven't been back since. And I had never gone before. So I only know Disney in that 4-day time period that I was there. And my friends and I swore we were going to go back. We never did. And I don't know if it would be as fun when you're not there on a class trip, but Disney World was a great one. So do that. I mean, you go with just families, you rent out the place, that would be amazing. You can do anything you want. Uh so that lottery is on Friday night. Uh, good luck with the the Megaillions coming up in the next hour. Do you see again Route 133 closed down again? We thought they'd be done last week. I guess they thought they needed some re-shirt shoots. They came back today on that new Cameron Diaz movie that Netflix is move working on and then the Bruce movie with uh Jeremy Allen White um is coming out next week and all these movies shot in New Jersey. So, we're going to talk about movies in Jersey and maybe if you ever got to be in any of them. It's coming up next hour with Kyle and EJ. Judy is back tomorrow. It's New Jersey 101.5. Judy, I was cleaning out a drawer full Jersey Chime time 109. It's the Judy and EJ show with Kyle and EJ. Judy off till tomorrow. We look forward to her return. 1 800283101.5. Guess what we're talking about this hour? Could it be this guy? It could be. It could be Bruce Springsteen. Ever been in a movie or a TV show? Uh if not, what was your 15 minutes of fame? got going on this because you the movie being shot out on 133 right now for the past two weeks. It's the Cameron Diaz film and New Jerseyy's film industry is booming with the Springsteen biopic coming out. It's called Deliver Me from Nowhere. Uh it generated Kyle nearly $42 million in spending across New Jersey employing about 500 cast and crew members uh for the 31 days that they were working on it. Filming took place in 14 municipalities with approximately 2 million allocated for location fees. uh showcasing New Jersey's versatility as a filming location, the state's film tax credit program has significantly boosted local businesses, including Edge Auto Rental and Eastern Effects Incorporated, which provided essential services uh for film productions. And New Jersey contributed in another way of all the extras that are in these films, the film that's being shot right now in 133, the Springsteen movie, the Adam Sandler movie from a few months ago. Happy Gilmore, too. Yeah. So, somebody's out there getting their 15 minutes of fame. Not us, but someone's out there getting it. And I've mentioned this before that our friend um who works on the weekend, Bob O'Brien, when he's not here on the radio on the weekends, he's out being an extra in Jersey films and TV shows. He goes over to Manhattan and works on the shows that are being shot in New York City. Um, so there are opportunities out there. And yeah, I can remember years ago that I had a friend that was an extra in the movie uh Jersey Girl, which was shot in your favorite town Paulsboro. Oh my god, I should have came back with the Paul. But and then and then he also or another friend was actually a background person. What do they call extras? Uh part of that movie shot in Berlin in South Jersey as well. So a lot of opportunities to be in a film, you know, whether you're just an extra and then of course there's other opportunities. the reality TV shows. You know, Jersey Shore was shot here. Maybe you were over in Seaside Heights and maybe you were seen uh in the background. I know the staff here at the station, including myself, we were on Real Housewives of New Jersey back in the early 2010s. So, u were you ever in a film? Were you ever in a movie, a TV show? Were you ever on the radio? What was your 15 minutes of fame? We would love to hear your story at 1800283101.5. I'm also interested just how you got to be an extra in a movie. Is that something you all you don't audition for that? Well, you have to join the union, I believe. Uh, and you have to be in the SAG after union. And I guess you have to work with the booking agent, I guess, that would get you involved with that. Or, you know, in some cases that people just show up. They're not even in the union. I believe they just show up and they have to sign a release. So, that was my question. Like, how did you even get to that point in general? Like, I've never really had a 15 minutes of fame. I've never been in a movie. I've never been an extra in a movie. But, how do you get that? Like I had there was a a I told you the other day a film that was being shot in my hometown right before I moved from there. And like I guess I could have stumbled upon the set and tried to be an extra, but I don't really know that that's how you would get that part, right? You have to talk to somebody to be able to know to show up to a filming spot on a certain day to be part of the extras. Like how how are you informed? I guess you have to be you have to be plugged in. Yeah. Somehow you can't just show up. There's a show that was um that's on uh I believe Netflix. Uh Shane Gillis. Shane Gillis. Yeah. He's a comedy guy. Comedy guy, but he has a show called Tires. Okay. And it's a workplace comedy kind of like The Office, but they're all in a tire shop out in Westchester, Pennsylvania. Okay. And a friend of my uh my daughters was an extra on that show. They were doing like this big tire expo at the um up in Oaks, the Pennsylvania, one of the convention centers up in Oaks. And they were doing this fake tire expo up there. and my daughter's friend Tori showed up there just to be in the background. Uh so I know there's opportunities over and Bob was also in that show too. Bob was also entire so um more and more we're seeing more and more TV shows, more and more movies shot here in the Great Garden State. Netflix is uh building a uh a huge new facility for film making over in Mammoth County. So share your stories with us if you whether it was film or TV or even radio. Kyle, you say you haven't had your 15 minutes of fame, but you're having it right now, my friend. You're right. I guess you're technically right. So, it's weird to think of that that like so many people are listening and you just I'm I feel like I'm just talking to you. Yeah, you could pick this FM station up from like New York State down into like Maryland and deep into Pennsylvania and then online around the world. Anybody anywhere could be listening to you right now, Kyle. I guess this technically is my 15 minutes of fame, but I've never been like on a TV show. I've never never even been on the news. You know how sometimes people go viral for being on the news and having their clip go viral? Like that kind of constitutes 15 minutes of fame in my book as well. Well, everybody's an influencer now and there Tik Toks, right? And so anybody can have their 15 minutes of fame. Yep. Yep. Yep. That that's like the modern way of it happening. You can make your own fame. Seriously. Well, posting on it, but then also just being in somebody's video. There's so many people, especially if you're on like a college campus. never happened at Montlair when I was there, but there's plenty of people who do stuff like that. They interview college kids on campuses for god knows what and those videos go viral and stuff. So, yeah, there's another way of getting your 15 minutes of fame. It might not be in a TV show or a movie. It might just be on Tik Tok or Instagram reels or stuff like that. So, plenty of different ways it can happen today. The new Springsteen movie, Deliver Me from Nowhere, Jeremy Allen Way. And maybe you're in it. They shot it in New Jersey over the summer getting ready to open next week. Were you in that movie? Are you going to be in the new Cameron Diaz movie, which they're shooting on Route 133 right now? Uh, have you ever been on a TV show? You're 15 minutes of fame. 1 800283 101.5 Phillip uh checking in from Middle Sex. Say Philip, you're on New Jersey 101.5. Hey, how are you? Thanks for having me. Thanks for calling. Thanks. So, yeah, I was involved with um uh Happy Gilmore 2 last year. And how do you get started with that? Um, in my case, I got involved with it because there was an advertisement in the newspaper looking for extras to audition in Morristown last year. So, I went there, dropped off my resume, signed the paper, and they told me to join this website, which is a casting website called the Grant Wolf uh casting. So, wait, so what do you have to audition for? If you're an extra, theoretically, you don't have any speaking parts. What are what are you auditioning for? You don't know. You're just willing to take whatever they give you. Okay. And then you ended up actually getting in the movie. Yes. Um you could actually see me behind Adam Sandler in the first scene in the movie when he's driving the golf ball. Wow. How cool is that? Let me ask you. Um there there's I hear the the toughest part about being an extra in a film is the waiting. I hear you do a lot of waiting. Um yeah, I had to stand outside for a couple hours to get to the the second floor of that building where um we all had to audition for. And you know, it was worth it because, you know, I was able to get in in a couple of scenes in the movie. And um and I did a lot of um I learned a lot just by being on the set. Like usually they expect you to get there at the spot very early in the morning. Um, like in my case, the first time I did my first scene, I had to I had to prepare to go to West Orange, New Jersey at the Montlair Golf Club. Um, I arrived on time. They tell you to go to the holdings tent and then you have to go to the changing tent. You know, these freelancers tell you where to go. And then the last three times I um participated in the film, uh, it was at the Fiddler's Elbow in Bedminster, uh, New Jersey. And um I think I I work for Rarity Valley Community College and I think they filmed a couple of scenes there too. Do you actually get to meet Adam Sandler, Philip, when you're doing this or is it more like um you could actually see him, but as an actor, you're not really allowed to interact with the um with the actors. Like in my case, I didn't get to meet Abler, but I kind of interacted with him when I was at um the fiddler's elbow. He one time drove up about maybe 10 feet away from me in a golf in the golf cart. Mhm. I kind of like waved to him and he kind of waved back like told he made like emotions to like not come near him, but then I just like nodded like I acknowledged like and respected his boundaries and he just like gave me like the thumbs up and just like walked away. So that was like my one interaction with him. But he was cool. I had a lot of fun. I learned a lot about film productions and I hope that I get involved in other films sometime down the road. Very good. Philip, thanks for calling New Jersey 101.5. Not unlike what happened with me and Robert Plant uh at the uh Freedom Mortgage Pavilion last summer. He was in the same viewing box I was in, but I couldn't look at him or talk to him or breathe. He was like right as close as you are. This guy from Led Zeppelin, legendary Robert Plant, and I couldn't talk to him. You were instructed to not even make eye contact. He said he got the the brush away. You know what I mean? We got the brush away to Robert Plant. But anyway, your 15 minutes of fame, whether it was in a movie or online or on a TV show, whatever it might be, call us and share that story uh with Kyle and EJ. Judy will be back tomorrow. Coming up next, a chance to win $1,000 in the network payday. It's 18. Here's New Jersey Fast. October is breast cancer. Looks like we got a text from Steve Trevalis. How about that? He says, "Can you promote that Jack is going to call me tonight between 7:15 and 7:45?" Who's Jack? Jack Cinderelli. Of course, it's Jack Cinderelli. Perhaps it's the the Republican candidate. Republican candidate. Oh, wow. A little surprise on the Steve Trevol show tonight sometime between 17 15 and 7:45. Get two quarter hours out of that. There you go. There you go. Tune in to that tonight. Go Trev. Go 1800 283101.5 talking about your 15 minutes of fame. It's uh Sal in Hillsboro on New Jersey 101.5. Hey Sal. Hey gentlemen. Thanks for having me on. How are you today? Thank you for calling. Appreciate that. So, I I I was born in Manhattan, so I used to go to talk shows all the time. As a kid, I was always on this on TV. But my most kooky thing is I was at a Yankee game and I have this crazy habit of putting a peanut on my ear as an earring. What? Say that again. I don't understand. Please say that again. No problem. I get a peanut out of a bag and I clip it on my earring. On my ear like, you know, a little huggy. I'm going to try that. I do that cuz I'm superstitious. If the Yankees win, I eat the peanut. If the Yankees lose, I throw it up. Why didn't you call Dor Sports Superstition Hour? That's great. I love that. I Well, thank you. But the comedy is some guy says, "What's that earring?" And I explain the story. He says, "Can I tape that for you?" Sure. So, he videos it. Next thing you know, I'm on Tik Tok. I'm not even on Tik Tok, but friends of mine told me 6.5 million views. Woo. So, if you're bored, put on Yankees peanut earring and you'll see my ugly mug wearing a stupid peanut. And 6.5 million people did it. I'm going to have to look at this in the break. I'm writing it down. There you go. Yankees peanut earring. Well, you know what? You're going to have to do two. You're going to have to do two earrings next year because they they went out fast. Yeah, I'm well aware. I'm well aware. Of course you are. As we are with the Phillies. Uh S, thanks for calling New Jersey 101.5. Melanie in Browns Mills. Hey Melanie, you're on New Jersey 101.5. Hi. How are you? We're great. Hey. Okay. So, there was two incidents. One was when I was a child. My mom signed me up for an old game show called Kids Say the Darnest Things. Uhhuh. I don't know if you I don't know if you remember that one. The second one was I was at work. Um this was in Staten Island, New York. And I went to lunch and I'm walking along and they were filming that uh miniseries with uh Wuang and I they I was watching it when it finally came out and there I am walking by. Oh man. Going to get lunch. Yeah, I do remember that kid say the darnest things. I mean that was like the 70s, right? Or the 60s. No, 70s. It was the late 70s because I believe I was like I like seven maybe six 51 now. Uh how about that? Do you remember the process for that? Like how did they end up choosing you to be on the show? Was there a competition to get on? Like how did that all work? I have no idea. All I know is my mom handled everything. Next thing I know, I'm going to Manhattan with her. That's pretty cool. Do you still have like a clip of it anywhere? No. Yeah. It's really hard to find clips from the old days, right? I mean, everything if you have a phone or YouTube, anything now. No, it's really hard. Like, you can't find those. I think they even had the the video VT V. What is it? VR VCR. Yeah. Yeah. Kyle doesn't even remember VCR. Not a clue. No. How about that? Single clue. Melanie, thanks for calling New Jersey 101.5. The film industry alive and well in New Jersey. Netflix is in the process of building a huge studio facility in Fort Mammoth and movie being filmed right now for the past couple of weeks. Uh must be a must be a highway scene. They they've been on Route 133 near Heightstown for like two weeks now. They weren't even supposed to be there today. They had to go back and and shoot even more. You have Happy Gilmore, was it two? Happy Gilmore 2. Yeah. And you had Deliver Me from Nowhere, the Springsteen movie with Jeremy Allen White getting ready to open next week. Um and uh you had Real Housewives of New Jersey. Uh, Jersey Shore, maybe you were in the background of one of those shows. 1 800283101.5. Share your 15 minutes of fame or check it on our app chat. John and West Caldwell said he was interviewed by Oprah at his college graduation and he was on the news in Baltimore. And this is I guess Oprah was doing the news in Baltimore. He said she was a second fiddle news person at the time. He said, "Who knew what I started?" Yeah, you never know, right? Uh, also this is from Scott in Clearwater, Florida. As a kid, I thought it was a big deal that Lisa Thomas, Lori, and she used to be on channel 6 in Philadelphia. That's correct. Channel 6 uh in Philly interviewed me as a Boy Scout during a Pinewood Derby race. I remember the Pinewood Derby, and I had not thought about it in 20 years until I read that. I did the Pinewood Derby. My son also did the Pinewood Derby. My first claim to fame was within the Pack 254 in Maze Landing that I won the trophy one year for the Pinewood Derby. I got a trophy. Couple of other people have been extras in a movie. Mike says he was an extra in a movie called Homeboy. I don't know if you've heard of this, EJ. It was with Mickey Ror and Christopher Walkin. Said it was fun and he met both of them. You know, two killer actors, never seen the film. Definitely worth looking that up. And Jay and Perth Amboy giving us a little bit of a um just like a heads up on how you can get called to be an extra. He says, "Sometimes there's casting calls that are in the area on social media. You sign up, you give your info, and send head shot, and then they get back to you. So, I guess if you're actively trying to seek it out, there's really an option to be an extra. I've just never tried to seek it out before. Yeah. And some with the movies that are in Jersey, though. Yeah. And I'm sure some make it like it's like a part-time job for them. If you do enough background stuff, you're going to get enough coin to probably make some kind of a living. It feels like if you're an extra, they're going to treat you like you're the peasant. You know, you can't can't talk to Adam Sandler. Can't get near him. Stay 10 feet away from him. Yeah. And I don't know that this his directive, but that's just what they had to do. And we had a caller earlier in the hour who talked about you need to to wait for the auditions, but I think when they're actually filming, you have to do a lot of wait just for your scene to come up and they shoot scenes over and over and over again. So, I'm sure a fair amount of patience is involved with that. So, call us with your 15 minutes of fame. It doesn't have to be a movie. Could be a TV show. Could be maybe you're on the radio. We could give you your 15 minutes of fame right now in two minutes if you call in and we talk on the air. Who knows? Uh the Springsteen biopic deliver me from nowhere uh generating 42 million in spending across New Jersey. Uh employing about 500 cast members. Love this Jersey film scene happening in in our great state right now. Want to hear your stories. Your 15 minutes of fame 1800 283101.5. It's 1:30. One in eight women will de more Judy and EJ show from New Jersey 101.5. Thank you Kyle. Judy is back uh tomorrow. We're talking about your 15 minutes of fame show business alive and well here in the great Garden State. Let's go to Steve and Roosevelt. Steve, you're on New Jersey 101.5. Oh, my 15 minutes of fame came thanks to you, EJ. Oh, really? Gave me 15 years of fame here in New Jersey 101.5. Steve Trevalis, ladies and gentlemen. Thank you very much. I want I'd like to do something for my first album. Meet Steve Trevalis. Uh, so man, tonight Jack Cherelli is calling in. Yeah, I saw 7:15 7:45 somewhere in there. somewhere between yeah between 7:15 7:45 he's touring with VC and he's going to give us a call and explain the whole Yeah. I was going to say are there any main topic that we'll talk a little bit about that. Wow. Then we got Trevy at 10 and then we got Freddy Rabino coming in. Uh we're doing the show with Dennis and Freddy Rabino and Buddha November 8th at the Brookard Theater. And then you have another show too, right? In Spadia and Dennis and Pots. No, Spadia. the the show that we're doing with Spadia is November uh 15th and that's going to be with uh again Freddy Rubino. Okay. And uh Joe Myra and Bill Spadia. So Dennis will be on the 8th and Spy is going to be on the 15th. Wow. And uh we're just touring the world trying to make New Jersey laugh. So I gave you a job here in 20. You haven't given you haven't given me a job yet. You don't I'm not doing any standup comedy. I'm not hosting anything for Steve Trevalis. Come on, man. Wait. Say that again. Hold on. I think I see talent. We could do this. November 22nd. Anybody want EJ? Call 1800283101.5. Yeah, I got to earn it. I'm working on that. I'll take you with Freddy Rabbino. Send yours. Thanks, Trev. He's here at 7 tonight. Let's go to Owen in Point Pleasant. He wrote a kids book. Okay. Hey, Owen. How you doing? Thanks for calling New Jersey 101.5. What's up, Owen? Yeah, good. I don't usually call in, so uh it's kind of a newbie experience right now. But um yeah, I wrote a board a book about uh the boardwalk. You know, it's a kids book. It's about my dogs, so I had a lot of uh experience to go from, you know. How how long ago did you write it and how's it doing? It's going good. You know, I got um actually stickers out like to different stores like local grocery store, different places. Uh the gift store at Jens. You could go there. Nice. And um I have the book sold at the gift store, too. So it's right at the register. So when you walk in, you see the stickers. You could take some. It says like ask associate, you know, or just take the stickers. It's cool graphic to have. So it's kind of like you could get the book or just enjoy the stickers. And can you find it online, Owen, too, or just in person? Uh you can find it online. It's on Amazon. Awesome. What's the title of it? It's uh Bailey and Sydney's Day of Fun at the Boardwalk. Very nice. That sounds great. Very Jersey, very short and for kids. And uh you're creating your own 15 minutes of fame right there, Owen. Thanks for calling uh New Jersey 101.5. So, the Bruce movie coming out next week with Jeremy Allen White. You know him uh from uh the uh the pair, right? And he was in um Shameless. Great actor. He's starring as Bruce Springsteen, but not only starring as Bruce, he's singing. Singing singing Born to Run. Crazy. Deliver Me from Nowhere opening next week. It generated nearly 42 million. So far, the movie hasn't even opened yet. The 42 million was generated from spending across the Garden State while they were making the film and employing about 500 cast and crew members. I I would love to talk to some of those cast and crew members. Your 15 minutes of fame. Give us a buzz at 1800 283101.5 or on the New Jersey 101.5 app chat. Have not had mine yet, but hoping it happens at some point. Maybe I'm going to have to start signing up to become an extra in some of these. You can do them online. Apparently, we've gotten the messages that social media is a way that you can uh sign up to be a movie extra. Though, I would have like I wish I got on this sooner because I would have loved to just been an extra in Happy Gilmore 2. And you're going to think I'm a nerd, but not even to be working with Adam Sandler. I just want to see the private golf courses he was shooting at. I want to go scope out where when I win the lottery, I'm going to join after that. What's your favorite golf movie? Oh man. Um, probably Happy Gilmore just cuz I haven't seen a whole lot. I've seen Catty Shack and I've seen Happy Gilmore and that might be the extent of it. Although, no, you know what? Tin Cup. Tin Cup is a good one. Oh, I remember Jeffy Chase, right? Uh, no, it's uh Kevin Cosner. Kevin Cosner. Yeah, that's a good one. Chevy Chase is Catty Shack. That's a good one. Yes. Uh, what's it? Yeah, Tin Cup is Kevin Cosner. Catty Shack is Chvy Chase. and Rodney Dangerfield and a guy named Ted Knight. Now Ted Knight was a guy on the Mary Tyler Moore show and he was like this pompous newsman who spoke like this all the time and he had that same role in Cattyshack and Rodney Dangerfield was just this like you know sloppy go-lucky guy and just the the relationship between the two personalities you know it was um it was almost like the personalities were so different. One guy was like prim and proper and and um wellto-d do and the other guy was like new money, you know, old money versus new money and their personalities were just such a great it's probably one of my favorite movie of all time. Catty Shack. Did you ever end up seeing Happy Gilmore 2? Well, first off, have you seen the first one? And then have you seen the second one? Actually, I don't think I've seen either. So, the first one is pretty good. It's it's, you know, as good of an Adam Sandler movie as it can be. I know it's kind of an acquired taste for some people. The second movie may very well have been the worst movie I've ever seen. now. Oh, the one they shot in New Jersey. Is that bad? Look, I know that it's, you know, not supposed to be good and have the story be good. And I get all of that. It really just kind of felt like a way to shoehorn as many celebrities as you could possibly think of. Yeah, there was there was cameos from like every athlete you can imagine and so many professional golfers are in the movie, football players, the whole nine yards. like he he really got a crazy amount of star status in that movie. I was watching it like what the hell am I watching right now? Are there places in New Jersey that you recognized? Uh not that I recognized. No, I know that like people have said there were courses that were in New Jersey. I think Philip who had called in earlier said that it was at like Mlair Country Club which I've driven by plenty of times when I was at school up there and always was like man I wish I could play that golf course. So I wish I could have been an extra there and just seen it. I guess if you're close up on a green, they all look the same. Kind of if you're close, if you see the background, the trees, the layout, if you see the layouts and stuff, yeah, you would be able to recognize it and notice, but for that one, I I did not notice any of the courses that were shot there. Uh Jay in Perth Amboy says that apparently there was also a Kevin Hart movie that was shot in South Amboy over the summer, which is a Netflix movie. So, we've been a hot spot for for movies since 2025. I like Kevin Hart. I'd like to see that movie. I don't know if I even know any movies that he's in. I almost know him as just a personality on shows or like stand up. Stand up host commercials. Yeah, exactly. He's doing like the one of the gambling uh websites. That's kind of what I know him more for. I mean, he hosted Did he host the roast of Tom Brady when that happened if you remember that like a year and a half ago or I'm pretty sure he was the host of it and I know him more from that than I do actual acting in movies. Yeah. Uh every time I see him he seems like a really likable guy. So, uh I think he's funny. Yeah. 1-800 283101.5 talking about your 15 minutes of fame and have you been in the background of any any of these movies that have been shot in New Jersey over the years. Uh the latest of course being deliver from nowhere, the Bruce Springsteen biopic with Jeremy Allen White which is getting ready to open next week. So give us a call or check in on the app chat 1800 283101.5. We got the traffic and weather coming up. And remember this, De Minsky Moore at 2 o'clock with another chance to win $1,000 at 220 from New Jersey. What a 1.5 is the perfect time to tackle those home. It's the Can you spell arborvites without looking? Oh boy. A R B O R V I T E A S. A R B O R V I T E A S. Did you say the I did. You got it right. How about that? Wow. And I pronounced it right, too. We used to have a rule on the station that you couldn't say or use a word unless you could spell it. Wow. And you didn't even look at the copy. No. Well, I've read that so many times and I think I have it ingrained in my head. But Well, I'm glad you could spell it. A lot of people here can't even say it. I know. It's arborites people. I've heard arborvites. I I've heard various various ways to pronounce that. It's those tall green plants that prevent you from seeing the neighbor's house who you would plow down if you won the lottery. I There you go. I've seen them before. Maybe I've grown up hearing the word so I know. I'm always I'm shocked at how many people have not been able to pronounce it. And now a lot of times they do not give us a guide to how to pronounce something. It's just that you know the copy there's no phonetic spelling of it and it's just you guess. Right. They do have that for the Arborvites and we still get it wrong. Someone explain it to me. We're the official station in New Jersey of the Arborite. That's right. Someone explain to me how we're still pronouncing it wrong. Drives me and EJ crazy every time we hear. We're talking about your claim to fame, your 15 minutes of fame. 1 800283101.5. Uh New Jerseyy's film industry getting stronger and stronger. Like it used to be like you heard a movie being made in New Jersey. Oh, that's pretty cool. But now like it's like happening all the time now and it seemed like we know so many people that are extras in these movies. Are you going to see the Bruce Springsteen movie? I actually would be interested in seeing that. I'm not like a huge Bruce fan by any stretch. I know his hits. I don't know any other deep cuts of his, but I would be interested in seeing it. Yeah. And I haven't gone and saw a movie in a theater. Yeah. Almost a decade probably. I mean, I don't know if you know this about me. I'm like the least cultured person when it comes to movies. You could start ripping off a long list of movies. You know, I guarantee you I've seen none of them. But I don't think I've seen a movie in theaters for 10 years. You just watch really long time. Netflix and watch on TV. I just don't watch them period. I'm not a movie guy. The Springsteen movie would be one to see in the theater because of the big sound systems since it's such a musically driven movie. And you know, there's a lot of people that have split feelings about Bruce Springsteen in New Jersey because of his politics. And I've always been one where I could separate and I could choose to listen to or not listen to his politics and he's got a platform. God bless him. Um, separate the art from the artist. May not agree with everything he's saying, but I love the music and the music was part of growing up in me being a young adult. And uh, and Jeremy Allen White is a great actor. He's great in The Bear. He was great and Shameless. He's been in other things over the years, too. So, I am definitely going to see that movie when it opens next week. Yeah, I'm interested in just kind of learning about the Bruce story in general. Again, don't know a whole lot about him. I know he's Mr. Jersey. I know everybody here loves him. I know we play his music all the time on the weekends, and I get it. Like, I I like the stuff that I do know by him, but I would like to find out the story of Bruce, too. I was super surprised about how great Jeremy Allen White sounded in the trailer. He's doing Born to Run and I watched the the whole piece and you know at first you know it's not Bruce Springsteen but then if you close your eyes and just kind of give into the whole feeling of the music his style of vocal maybe not the exact tonality of the vocal but the music in the background the crowd and I think it's going to be great to see it. So I'm looking forward to it. Maybe well I'll see you in it. Maybe you were in the not you Kyle you our listener maybe you were in the background. I can't wait to see that film. Anyway, I think we're done. Joe Walsh is chasing us out of here. Joe is telling us to go home. Another chance to win $1,000 with Dominsky and Moore at 220. They're on from 2 to 7 today. Dominsky and More next on New Jersey 101.5. [Music] [Applause]
