As the June 7 primary approaches here in New Jersey, it would be nice to see our politicians clarify their positions. Take guns and security in our nation's classrooms for example.

Hillary Clinton has taken Donald Trump to task on this, saying Trump would "mandate that every school in America allow guns in classrooms." She's apparently referring to statements he made in January when he said that on his first day in office he would get rid of gun-free zones in schools.

In an interview this weekend on Fox News, he stumbled through an opportunity to address this. In the same interview, on the same day, he said all of the following:

"I don't want to have guns in classrooms."
"Although, in some cases, teachers should have guns in classrooms."
"Things that are going on in our schools are unbelievable. You look at some of our schools, unbelievable what's going on."
"But I'm not advocating guns in classrooms."
"But remember, in some cases — and a lot of people have made this case — teachers should be able to have guns."
"Trained teachers should be able to have guns in classrooms."

WTF?

I'll leave it up to you to decipher this apparently well encrypted policy statement.
