Toms River man charged with swiping restaurant’s tips
TOMS RIVER — A township man has been charged with stealing $100 from tip jar at a restaurant.
The theft was reported Nov. 20 at the Royal Grill on Route 37.
A surveillance camera in the restaurant caught the thief in action.
An investigation led police to Nicholas Mayer, 23, who turned himself in Tuesday.
Mayer was released and awaits a Municipal Court date.
