Sriracha: As a nation we're obsessed. We'll put it on almost everything!

And the capsaicin in the peppers that go into making the spicy sauce can be considered a healing ingredient.

I came across this article from 6ABC Action News titled "7 ways Sriracha can save your life." Apparently, not only can it help you shed pounds by boosting your metabolism, but Sriracha can reportedly lower blood pressure and cholesterol and improve blood clots, boost circulation as well as fight colds and kill cancer cells.

It's no doubt that it's the condiment of choice for most new Jerseyans. But we asked our listeners this: Besides sriracha sauce, what is the number one spice or condiment they HAVE to add to almost EVERYTHING they eat?

The answers were as strange and varied as you can get!

  • Dijon Mustard
  • Wasabi
  • Italian Dressing
  • Papa Joe's spice (A local product, a mix of salt, pepper, garlic)
  • Balsamic vinegar
  • Worcestershire sauce
  • Daddys sauce (A British condiment consisting of molasses, brown Sugar, orange peel, raisins, and a few other things)
  • Chick-Fil-A sauce (Mixture of BBQ sauce and honey mustard)
  • Montreal steak seasoning
  • Tartar Sauce
  • Frank's Hot Sauce (poor relation to Sriracha)
