A Westfield driver and West New York passenger, both 20, have been arrested after a crash left a pedestrian critically hurt on August 17.

A New Jersey man who raped a woman in the newly opened Conrac Parking Garage at Newark Airport has been sentenced to 18 years in prison.

Herman Brightman, who also goes by Nazir Griffiths or Nazir Luckett, is accused of physically abusing several women he dated — including strangling one and threatening to gut a different victim.

Weehawken police were approaching a car when Ricky Rivera, of Paterson, took off, striking an officer. Rivera was then wounded by shots fired by a second officer, prosecutors said.
