The administrative director of the New Jersey judiciary says a bill pending in the Legislature should scale back the changes planned for gun defendants.
Dr. Aakash Shah at Jersey Shore University Medical Center sensed that not enough has been done recently to curb violence before it produces consequences.
"I know many co-workers and nursing staff, that are on the front lines, have been hit by patients, kicked, bitten," said Dr. Jenice Forde-Baker, assistant medical director for the emergency department at Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center in Camden.
"Often times, people seem to focus only on the negatives when it comes to Plainfield, which is never done when it happens in Clark and Scotch Plains and Cranford," Mayor Adrian Mapp said.
In a newly-published study from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, nearly 21 percent of female teens who date said they were the victim of violence - sexual, physical or both. Ten percent of teen-aged males cited the same violence.
