Close to 5,100 cases of the tick-borne illness were reported in New Jersey in 2017 — a 17 percent jump from the year prior. New records were set in 10 of the state's 21 counties.
There were 765 overdose deaths in N.J. so far in 2018. The proposed budget allocates money for treatment, addressing social risk factors and better tech.
A report suggesting changes to NJ's medical marijuana program will be filed by March 24. "An entire slew of recommendations," says acting health commissioner.
