Voters in seven of the 501 school districts that held elections across New Jersey this week also faced ballot questions related to their schools. Four of those questions were defeated, while three won approval. Three of the four questions that were defeated were related to additional school spending.​

It's election day in some New Jersey communities — but not as many as in years past.

Residents in some New Jersey school districts will vote Tuesday on school budgets and school board members.

A majority of districts in New Jersey moved local school board elections to November.

New Jersey's school board elections are approaching next week, but they're often ignored by voters.  Only 73 districts across the state are holding them on April 17 after a new state law allowed school officials to move them to November's major election day.

Towns would be allowed to move school elections from April to November under a bill approved by the Assembly Appropriations Committee.
