State police say a trooper shot while investigating a reported home invasion robbery at a mobile home park last spring has been named New Jersey's state trooper of the year.
One man is charged with attempted murder, 2 others face weapons possession, and 5 women are accused of a related violent home invasion, prosecutors said.
Two coaches and other players not charged in the incident had also been suspended from the Schalick High School wrestling team following the incident involving a broomstick.
Schalick High School will not start the season on Saturday at the Pine Barrens Tournament as an investigation of students and staff continues by State Police.
Members of the Schalick High School wrestling team were charged with using a broomstick to strip and assault a student in the shower, according to Salem County Prosecutor John Lenahan.
