A new report by New Jersey’s top watchdog finds state agencies are improperly using state-issued credit cards, spending taxpayer money without following regulations designed to make sure the purchases are transparent and appropriate.
Environmental Working Group found over 100 contaminants in NJ utilities in a 5-year span. One utility said many compounds were from the disinfecting process.
Such damage "might take two full years to recover from, and even then might not be successful," says the head of The Raptor Trust, which is caring for the birds.
